To those researchers of Josiah Crofut & Rebecca Gregory...of Danbury, Ct, to Susquehanna Co, Pa...

Josiah and Rebecca recorded in a large bible the birth of thier children, and the place of birth. It is supposed that the bible contained also praises to the Lord for thier delivierence to a new land.. The large bible was in the possesion of George Frederic, upon his death in 1863, it appears that Lydia, George Clinton's sister is executrix. Lydia, a nurse passes away along about 4 Sep 1907, leaving to George 2 bibles. A big one, and and a little one, the big one being that of his grandfather, and the small one being that of his father. Recorded in the small bible is the date of George Clinton's birth, as he states in other records. George had 2 sons of which are of our main interests, Charles Henry, and Ernest Frederick. Charles Henry, settled Geogres estate, Ernest somehow was supposed to have got the big bible. (It is at this point and time I have lost track of the small bible). Upon the tragic death of Ernest in 1953. Ernest had a son Russell, that lived in Kane, Pa, I believe he had the big bible, this is the best I can do...Any help in finding the bible and resting place of George Frederic Crofutt & Phelina Campbell is appreciated..
