My family name is Crodian. I have began to research the family tree. I have found that several persons were from the Fincastle, VA area. We are tied to the Boswell, Peffely and McGaughey;s. They settle in Fincastle, IN rural Putnam County giving the settlement the same name as there previous home.I am seeking any information I can find on the community and it's people during the mid 1800's to 1930's.. Drop me a note and say hello.

I am looking for more information on my greatgrandparents. Henry F (Franklin) Croghan b.1892? was married to Elizabeth b. 1898? and they most likely married somewhere around 1915. Their eldest son Henry Jr was my grandfather who married Thelma. Henry and Elizabeth possibly had 2 other sons, Emanuel and John. The 1920 & 1930 census records show them in Baltimore City Maryland. Most of my family have remained in Maryland. Thanks for any info you might have.

Lynn - email to eljayy@comcast.net
Jane:

The only thing I know about my great-grandmother is that in the early 1900s she and her husband lived in Baltimore. Most of their children lived in Baltimore their whole lives.

I don't know anything else about her. My grandmother and most of her siblings passed away years ago. I've lost touch with most of the relatives on that side of the family. My mom remembers very little of her. I am trying to find out if my mother's sister knows anymore about her.

Thomas Crogan

I saw your post. Two Crogan brothers emigrated from Ireland at that time. I have detailed records at home and I will look at them tonight to see if one of them was Thomas. My grandfather's name was Thomas Crogan too, but he died in 1927. More later.
BTW, Thomas' ended up staying in Boston and there are many Crogans there. Michele

Bill, Robert and Nan Crogan, Philadelphia

I'm looking for any links to Bill Crogan, his brother, Robert or John and their sister Nan.

They were in the Philadelphia area and have some ties to my Quinns. You may have also found them in the south NJ area as well. My uncle who was born in 1915 tells me that they have some ties to his mother's family and believes that their mother, Mamie ( Mary??) may have been his grandfather, Patrick Quinn's sister. Pat Quinn was born in Ireland, in Longford in 1847 and we have circumstantial evidence to suggest that his siblings were born in Philadelphia.

Bill Crogan was the door man at the Bellvue Strattford Hotel in Philadelphia and may have been a bachelor. His brother, John or Robert was a mounted policeman for the Fairmont Park Police.

Any ties???
