Total shot in the dark here.

My Great-Grandmother was Maleta Alconzo Croughan (her father added the U to the name). Her grandfather was also a James Croghan, but definately not your James Croghan. There are so many repetitions of names in that family, that I thought I'd see if anyone had a lead, and I'm finding random cousins and siblings and cousins of cousins living with Croughans from census to census.

While looking thru Maleta's father's Civil War Pension records, I found a note that Maleta's sister, Edith Maud (or Maude Edith - she went by both) Croughan had moved to Baltimore. She also is now going by the last name of Baldwin. The note was around the time of her mother's death in 1926.

My question to the Maryland Croghans is this: does anyone have a Baldwin family listed on the same census page as your Croghans? I'm trying to find out what happened to her... hopefully she's living with a distant cousin?
