Descendants of William Cromartie and Ruhamah Doane have been gathering annually for a reunion since 1929 in Bladen County, NC. Originally reunions were held at White Lake. Since around 1980 reunions have been held at South River Presbyterian Church on NC Hwy 210 about a mile east of US Hwy 701. The next reunion, 79th will be held Sunday, October 12, 2008.

My maternal grand parents, Angus Cromartie and Anna Isabella "Annie Belle/Annabelle" Black are buried at SRPC cemetery. Granny's spinster sister was Elizabeth Janet Black whose genealogy research data was compiled in the booklet titled The William Cromartie Family, first published in late 1930's. Aunt Bessie is buried at Black River Presbyterian Church in Ivanhoe, Sampson County, NC.
