DIED - Suddenly at Frederick city, Maryland, on Thursday last, Mrs. Henrietta Susan Cromell, consort of Mr. John Cromell, and eldest daughter of Mr. John Bomberger of this city, in the 24th year of her age.

From the Marietta Pioneer (of Lancaster county, Pa.) of Friday, February 13, 1829 (page 3) - so she was born at 1805, probably in Pennsylvania, and died on Thrusday, either the 5th or 12th of February, 1829.

I have Katherine Cromwell married Morgan Williams in 1494 in Nottinghamshire. He took the Cromwell name. I am descended from their son Sir Richard (Williams) Cromwell.

I too am trying to validate Margaret Cromwell's ancestry (she was my 8th g-grandmother), married to James Obadiah Winter. Some say her father John's lineage was from Giles Cromwell and Sir Oliver Cromwell (the uncle of Sir Oliver The Protector); others have her father John as having descended from Philip Cromwell, whose father was Sir Henry "the Golden Knight" and his father Sir Richard. This Cromwell lineage is the same family as Giles and Sir Oliver, and all were Puritans, thus their migrating to America. Still not sure though which line Margaret comes from.

My ggggrandfather was Bushrod HIGGINS(1812 VA - 1862 MO), who supposedly married Henrietta CROMWELL(1812 MD - 1851 MO) in Kentucky in 1833.
She was originally from Maryland, her parents were John CROMWELL(1779 MD -1849 KY) [son of Stephen CROMWELL(Revolutionary Patriot, 1747-1783)] and Ana Maria ROGERS. Ana Maria was John's second wife of three.
I am trying to find a marriage record for Bushrod and Henrietta or a will for John listing her, to verify her as his daughter. Any help is appreciated. :)

Both Katherine's have the same father but two different husbands and these different lines are where the separate families come from. So who exactly was Katherine married to? I am also descended from Philemon Cromwell and Mary Fisher through their son, Philemon and Rebecca Hemp from Darke Co. Ohio. I have a family bible they gave to their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cromwell who married James Finley Fellers. I have pictures of many of the grave sites, as well as the Cromwell farm in Ithaca, Ohio. I would be happy to share.

1870 census Batavia, Branch, Michigan shows a Benjamin Cromwell living with Calvin Burrows and wife Azuba (Wilcox). It states Benjamin is b. CT around 1851. Calvin is also b. CT, Auzba in NY. It seems likely Benjamin is related in some way, hoping someone will recognize him and be able to shed some light on their possible connection.

Please let me know as I think I can go back to at least 1645 and much of the MD Cromwell family.
Henry was my great grandfather and homesteaded in NE in 1873, I believe.

I am trying to make a connection between John Ireton and Lord Henry Iretons, Cromwells son-in-law. i know that Henry had no living sons so i am trying to find the connection through one of his siblings ,henry had 4 brothers mathew c. 1600, thomas,c.1606, john, c.1615 he was lord mayor of london then there was either a jo 1613 and a clement c, 1598.but not sure if jo or clement are male or female. if you have John and Grace in your tree then i am related to you and would be most grateful for any information you can give me

Does anyone have a Johnny Caraway Cromwell, son of John Stewart Cromwell and Elizabeth Jane Jones?

He married Effie L. Turner.

They lived in or around the little community of Box, O.T. (Oklahoma Territory) where J.C. Cromwell is listed on the tax rolls 1901-1903. He's also in the 1900 census for this area.

I have no dates for births, deaths, etc. If you can help with this info, I'd be most grateful.

I am looking for a Charles C. Cromwell that was from the Cornwall/New Windsor area of Orange Co NY. He married a Mary Miller of New Windsor on 3/4/1847 at Canterbury, Cornwall NY. He was born abt. 1825. He died abt. 8/1849 of cholera and was a boatman by occupation. I believe he and Mary had a son also named Charles abt. 1849. Do you have him in your group of Cornwall Cromwells??? Thanks.

I'm trying to get more information about Oliver Burns Cromwell (white/male). It appears he also used Burns and O.B. in the census. In the 1850 Census it appears he was living in Lafayette, Mississippi with his mom, Mrs. M Cromwell and I'm guessing brother, William (3 years younger). Oliver and William list their occupation as Sea laborer. I would appreciate any info you can provide.

I am also looking for information about the cromwell side of the family. My great grandmother was Louise Barber Richardson, her parents were Bertha and Floyd Barber (thats what her obituary says). My uncle says that Cromwell is the last name of my ancestors,and there is supposidly cherokee indian, but thats all i know. If anyone has information please let me know.

I would be interested in communicating with someone that is related to William Crummell/Rebecca Wright who were married in either North Carolina around 1840 or before. Rebecca died sometime after their last child was born in 1842 and William dissappered from the census as of 1850...I am also trying to find info on their three children Sally, Kaisaih and Zadock (Zadse?) who were all born in North Carolina and later lived with their relatives Richard Wright and Kisaih Wright and others in Union, Georgia in the 1850 census. This is not my family line, but while searching Footnote.com's Civil War Pension File under - Widow's applications - for:
Reg 9 Co K, Mo State Mil (Calvary),

I noticed the complete widow's file for Nancy Cromwell Cure's dec'd husband, William D., a private, who died of Typhoid Fever.

(This name is indexed as CURE, but on one record, looked to be CURT).
There were 8 handwritten pages which are down-loadable:

The Buchanan marriage cert is included.
Looks like the surname HEYDE witnessed one of the CW records.

My Cromwell ancestors are supposedly descended from Jacobus Cromwell of Schenectady and the Mohawk Valley Cromwells. It is not known whether this line is English-Dutch, but they seem to have identified with the other Dutch inhabitants of the Mohawk Valley. Jacobus married Maria Philipse in 1703. Her father may have been Philip Philipse.

Do you have any information on this line?

The information I have referenced came from New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, Vol XLI, 1910, The Cromwell and Lewis Families of the Mohawk Valley, pp 20-27, by John Calder Pearson.

I have a record of 7 chn of Henry Cromwell (b 20.1.1627 d 23.3.1674 buried at Wicken Church, Cambridgeshire) and his wife Elizabeth Russell (m 10.5.1653 d 1687 also bur Wicken Church) Henry was Lord Lieut of Ireland.

Miss Cromwell's name may be Melinda instead of Matilda. She might also be the second wife of Charley Hodges. Malinda Hodges has a record of marriage, 1882 in Upshur county, Texas to a William Charles Hodges. I'm not sure if this is a related fact to the Charley Hodges listed on his son's death certificate in 1944 - George Washington Hodges - d. Texas.

I am researching my family. We are supposed to be direct descendants of Oliver Cromwell on a Goodwin link my grandfather was Thomas Goodwin Collier the family were Quakers from Buxton Derbyshire,England don't know if this helps.
