Hi Herb:
I recently stumbled across a note you had written on an Ancestry board in 2009 and am hoping this e-mail address is still good.
By way of explanation, I am a SLAUENWHITE, HUBLEY, WHITMAN and, lately, a MOSHER researcher. As I was working my way through the descendants of Sarah Salome MOSHER, I had come to the family of George Henry CROOK/CROOKS, and was working on George Henry II when I came to your note and had a couple of questions regarding same.
First, you state that George Henry II and Jean MORASH were married in Boston on 25 Jan 1918. However, the 1930 Census shows them as m. abt 1915, and they have a daughter named Geraldine who was b. Jul 1916. So, was that 1918 marriage date a fat-finger error or was Geraldine somewhat premature?
Also, you state that Jean MORASH was born in Dartmouth. However, the only Jean MORASH in the 1901 Census of NS, who happens to be exactly right age, appears to have been born in the town of Lunenburg, where her family has been living since at least 1891. So I guess the question is--what was your source for the Dartmouth POB?
