I have info on the family of Elmer and Amelia Crookham and also his ancestors. Your grandfather, Clyde had a brother, John who's daughter lives a few streets from me. Her name is Mary Crookham Clark.

Hello Rebecca, I saw the posting about your grandmother, Hazel L. Crookham. I have a lot of Crookham info which you may have already received by this time. I have a cousin who lives a few blocks away from me who is the daughter of Hazel's brother, John. Her name is Mary Crookham Clark. She lives with her daughter, Jean. I am not sure if I have gotten in contact with you in the past, however your posting was done in 2006. I have not been very active in research since I lost my son in 2004, so probably never saw your request. I think Diane Thomas may have answered you and she had most of the same info that I have, other than the connection to John's daughter. But I do have a lot of info if you never received anything from her.

THERE WERE AT LEAST 7-8 CHILDREN OF ELMER AND AMELIA CROOKHAM, ONE OF WHICH WAS MY GRANDFATER, CLYDE FRANCIS CROOKHAM, WHO RESIDED IN MONONGAHELA, PA AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH IN 1986.

I have traced my Crookhams to c. 1770 birth of Thomas in possibly Liverpool, he married Ellen Whitehead and their children were born Formby,Gt.Crosby and Thornton, all Lancashire.

As yet I have not been able to find with certainty the birth of Thomas.

Anyone else out there researching this branch of Crookhams?

Have Crookhams that sound like the same family but from Germany -- James m. Hannah Perry came to Elizabeth from Germany. Son Elijah (1775-1856) m Anne Wright. Grandson James Madison (1824-1913) m. Lydia Ann Devore in 1846. Devores came to Washington Co prior to Revolution. Have excerpts of letters from James Madison Crookham. Devores were French Protestants originally settling in New Amsterdam, N.Y - related to Duke of Normandy, etc.,etc.,etc. Sound familiar? If so, would like to share info. Lynn

I have her on the 1920 Census in Monogahela City, Washington Country, PA with her Parrents and 4 siblings
Ruth b. abt. 1987,
Mary, b. abt. 1902
John b. abt. 1908
Ethel b. abt. 1910

I have her on the 1930 Census in Monogahela City, Washington County, PA. She is married at this time to William G. Campbell, and is living with William's Parrents. My mother is on this census as well Lois J. Campbell.

I also know that Hazel's mother Amelia's parents were
f. - P.Lawerence Merriman
m. - Mary A. ?
They are both born approximately 1830 and were both born in Germany.

John CROOKHAM of N. Carolina

In 1790 John CROOKHAM was counted by Census in Pasquotank Co., N. Carolina. The household included John, his wife, another white female over 16, and 3 slaves. Same household turns up in 1800, same place. Now it counts John, wife, both ages 26-44 (born 1774 to 1756) and daughter age 0-10, no slaves. The household was not indexed in 1810, but appeared in 1820 in Camden Co., N.C., (next to former county or were county lines redrawn?) included just John and his wife, both over 45. (born 1775 or earlier). Would anyone have a clue if this John is related to the Pennsylvania Crookham family? And could he be the John Crookham (STB born 1755) who was brother of James Crookham (both sons of William Crookham)?

First name is definitely Merab. She may be connected with Crookham family, living in Elizabeth Twp., Allegheny Co., PA. In Census 1810 Elijah and James Crookham were counted there. Merab's family name may have been SCOTT. There were numerous Scott families in and around Elizabeth Twp. Census 1830 counted George Crookham (believe son of James above) in Licking Twp., Jackson Co., OH.

Merab or Mehab (No certain family name, possibly SCOTT, might be CROOKHAM) married a Mr.CROOKHAM 1800 - 1820 in PA, probably western PA (Allegheny, Beaver, Washington or Greene Counties). CROOKHAM's first name not known. In Census 1850 Merab CROOKHAM was living with Samuel SCOTT and his wife Mary in Wayne Twp., Muskingum Co., OH. Samuel was b. 1778 in PA, Mary (no family name) was b. 1782 in PA. Help?

Hello. I know nothing about our family except for the fact that we are from England-so I heard. I live in Texas. My mom's last name is Crookham. Her dad's, my grandpa's, name is Lake, something, Crookham. He married a Darlene Simmons, had three kids and later had a divorce. He married again, had one more child and again divorced. I know not his fathers name or anything past that. He has a brother name Joe P. Crookham who is part owner of Musco Lighting. I believe he has one more brother i think named Carter-please don't quote me on that. If anybody can help I would appreciate it. Thank you. Bye.

My grandmother was Mabel Mae Crookham. Her parents were Thomas J.Crookham and Edith C. Cooper. They married 3/4/1888. He was born in Elizabethtown,PA and she was born in Dravosburg, PA. They married at age 24 and 18. They had 2 daughters, Mabel Mae and Blanche.

I too am researching the Crookham line part of my family. Mine also were from Elizabeth Twp. Pa. There are about 7-8 other people that I know of who are working on this line.
My line goes like this
