I am trying to establish who James Crookston 1785 (son of George and Katherine) married. I have at least two options: either Mary Young or Margaret McGill. I am wondering if you can enlighten me. I am confused as to who the parent are of Charles Crookston 1821-1890 who married Helen Aikman

I'M SURPRISED IT WAS NOT ORIGINALLY CROOKSTON BUT CROOKS TOWN. HOW DID YOU FIND THAT OUT? HOW DID YOUR GROUP GET TO AMERICA AND WHY DID THEY COME? IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE WERE ALOT OF PEOPLE LIKE CROC WHO "GAVE HIS NAME TO THE VILLAGE OF CROOKSTON".
I WONDER WHAT "GAVE" MEANS. YOU HAVE TO GO TO http://www.ancient-scotland.co.uk/site.php?a=186
IT WILL TELL YOU ABOUT THE CASTLE. DO YOU HAVE ROSACIA? WE COME FROM SCANDANIAVIAN ANCESTORY BECAUSE IT IS A UNIQUE PROTEIN IN THE FACE THAT HAS GONE AWRY COMMON TO THE RELATIVES. ONE OF ANNE'S FRIENDS FROM SCOTLAND SAYS WE HAVE NORSE RELATIVES AND I SURMISE THIS IS WHY WE HAVE THE DISEASE.
BOBBIE

My grandfather grew up in New York and I am looking for any information that I can find about his family. We have some very old pictures and "tins" from New York and Kalamazoo,Mi. but I dont have a clue who they are or how they are related.
My Grandfather used to tell us about a castle in Scotland and my dad has received information about it, we always thought he was teasing us...
I reside in MN now and there is a town up north named Crookston, originally it was Crooks town though, so no excitement there...
Thank you for any help, I look forward to hearing from any of you

yes . . . I have a number of your Crookstons in my tree. I will have to take a copy of your descendants from William Wilsoun (abt 1695 on my tree} and do a comparison with my tree. There appears to be a considerable numbr of common names. My connection with the Crookstons is with Jemima (abt 1821) daughter of Charles (1764) son of Agnes Hogg abt 1734. I am still chasing these for correctnes because the years seem a bit out. e.g. Charles 1764 then Jemima 1821 a difference of 56 years. I will contact you through your website in a couple of days after I have done the comparison.

Regards
ROB Innes

I have his father as
Earl, his grandfather as Jesse Proctor Crookston, gt grand as
Jesse Crookston who was the son of emigrant George Crookston and Jane Hutchison. George's sister Janet married David Hutchison and they are my ancestors. We have 6 generations past that in a huge data base of Crookstons and would be happy to share. Contact me.
