My husband is a Skoog -- his father was Carl Birger Skoog, his father was Carl Robert Skog and his father was Edward Skog, a shoemaker in Sweden. I don't know any cousins from Robert's brothers, but I'm sure there are. Do you have this connection?

My 4XGrandad was a Robert Crookston born 1799 Pencaitland was a miner married 1828 to Mary Darling, Their son george married Catherine Johnston, their daughter Margaret (Jessie) Crookston born 1852 Prestonpans I think) married Charles Douglas ( who was my great grandad )

my name is Lisa Crookston-Altomari. My father and grandfather were both Ralf Andrews Crookston. My grandfather grew up in New York and I am looking for any information that I can find about his family. We have some very old pictures and "tins" from New York and Kalamazoo,Mi. but I dont have a clue who they are or how they are related.
My Grandfather used to tell us about a castle in Scotland and my dad has received information about it, we always thought he was teasing us...
I reside in MN now and there is a town up north named Crookston, originally it was Crooks town though, so no excitement there...

we are related. we share common grandparents in james crookston born 20 april 1760 and agnes hogg born 16 april 1762. Your james crookston 20 april 1760 had a brother george crookston born 31 jan 1758, this is my line. can you give me more on your line? i run a family web site and your line is missing, (check the link to our family web site below). please check the stories section for a famous relative joanna crookston born 12 jan 1769.

I know it has been a long time since you posted a enquiry about the above person, but I know quite a bit about them.
Nicholas & his wife Hazel used to correspond with my grandparents, my Mum and then me. I have also tried to track down his descendants as I know of a few.

yes . . . I have a number of your Crookstons in my tree. I will have to take a copy of your descendants from William Wilsoun (abt 1695 on my tree} and do a comparison with my tree. There appears to be a considerable numbr of common names. My connection with the Crookstons is with Jemima (abt 1821) daughter of Charles (1764) son of Agnes Hogg abt 1734. I am still chasing these for correctnes because the years seem a bit out. e.g. Charles 1764 then Jemima 1821 a difference of 56 years. I will contact you through your website in a couple of days after I have done the comparison.

james crookston born 1852,scotland was my great grandfather he married mary keith herries 1871 south shields durham were they had my grandmother agnes tina crookston 1877,agnes married samuel james pepper abt 1895 at thornaby on tees yorkshire were they had my mum rose pepper 1911,24,palmer street thornaby rose married thomas walker 1932,thomas left the family and six kids abt 1945,by the way james above died 1917,mary 1910,both thornaby hope this is of some intrest.

Pfc. Duncan Charles Crookston, 19, of Denver, Colo., died Jan. 25 in Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

His children were Malcome, Jannet, James, Marjorie, Andrew, Mary and Agnes. He married Margaret Wilson (Wilsoun) b: abt 1620 in West Lothian, Scotland.

Researching the family of Nicholas Lee Crookston (b. 6th July 1887 at Rexburg, Idaho) who married Hazel May Newman (b.4th Oct. 1884 Pleasant Grove, Utah)

I would like to make contact with any of their descendants. N.L. Crookston's ancestors originated from Anstruther, Fife, Scotland. back in 1785.

I am a descendant of the 'Crookston' family.

The father of Ellen Crookston Morton was Robert Simpson Crookston and the mother Agnes Tina Hughes married 1845 in Scotland. Robert was apparently brought to Jarrow by Charles Palmer the shipmaker in Jarrow Durham UK.
This man is my gr gr gr grandad and I have lots of info on him.

Hi was your Charles son of Agnes Hughes and Robert Crookston born 1868 in James St Jarrow. I have quite a lot of info on this family has my Charles is my GR GR GR Uncle. He also married a Margaret Ann Chapman in 1886.
