No family link as such, but I live in a house in Nursling Hampshire, built in 1840, which was lived in by John Cropp (b1783ish) and his wife Martha from 1841. Children were George, Sarah, Thomas and Emma, but from their ages I would assume there were older children who had left home by 1841 - probably one called John? I am trying to trace the history of occupants of my home. Any info appreciated. Judith

If any one knows how to get a copy of this family tree I sure would be interested. I have a book about the American Cropps, but I can not track them before James and Abrigail Cropp of England. They had a son Named Abraham Cropp,Esq of Richmond, Surrey who married Susannah Banner and they had six kids. If any one can help I sure would appreciate it.

Byron Cropp

PS Would love to see the crest

Hello,

Who are the later people in the book, and when were they around?

I am the great grandson of Emily Elizabeth Cropp (b 1885 - Islington, London), who is the daughter of Charlie Cropp (b 1856 - Lambeth Surrey), who is the son of John Cropp (b 1809 - Hunting (?) Herts), who is probably the son of John Cropp (b 1785 - Hampshire).

Do any names in the book match any in this lot? I speak German if that helps?

Does anyone else have any connection to any of these Cropps?

Thanks,

Ray

Dear Susan Smith, I hope 4-5 yrs is not too long to respond to you note on rootsweb. I am a 4 X Grand daughter of Elizabeth Cropp, dau of James. I have uncovered bits and pieces through the years in old libraries but beg to have any documented proof of how this line goes. I thought it just "daughtered out" with no sons to carry the name, and that really makes things hard. I can prove back to Nancy Krop Crop b 1817, Fayette Co, PA. She married John Bute. My sketchy facts show William with James as father. They joined LDS through the midwest and cut ties some. My line stayed in LaSalle Co, IL and never joined.
Hope to hear from you or your representative soon.

I am trying to contact a Mr. Ken Martin of Napa. I'm wondering if it is the same gentleman that is mentioned in the obituary that you posted.

The Ken Martin I would like to talk to was recently interviewed in a newspaper article regarding an old home in Browns Valley, Napa, CA - that belonged to my ancestors.

I have a couple of questions and information to share. I descend from the DeWeese family. By 1861 my g-g-g-grandfather George Washington DeWeese was settled into his (Browns Valley) Napa home. Thank you.

aprilrobinson199@bellsouth.net

I too am interested in Soloman Cropp (possibly Cross?) of Dade County GA. My interest is in regards to his listing on the 1860 Census of Dade County. The census lists a 10 year old by the name of Ellen O'Neal living in his household. I believe she may be my gggrandmother who was orphaned. Is Soloman in your line? Thanks, Donna
