Multiple George Crosbys?

I need your help straightening out a problem.

What I know...
Robert Dunning Hughes (1790-1847) married Charlotte Crosby Floyd (1801-1884). Charlotte's father was Henry Helm Floyd (1761-1850) and mother was Frances Crosby (1762-1816).

Robert's father was John Hughes (1747-1834) and Esther Thorn (1754-1841) and his paternal grandparents were John Hughes (1717-?) and Judith Neville.

The problem...
Many people say Frances's father was George Crosby; unfortunately, I believe they have wrong George Crosby in their trees because they list his birth at 1681 and his death at 1730. This would mean he lived to 118 and he fathered Frances at the ripe old age of 81. Thus problem #1...an age of 118 and fathering children at the age of 81 would be quite the feat NOW. I find it neigh impossible over 200 years ago.

Problem number 2 is Frances's mother. Some list her mother as Mary Hughes (1744-?), the daughter of John Hughes (1717-?) and Judith Neville. The problem with this is John Hughes and Judith Neville are Robert Dunning Hughes grandparents.

The conclusion...
The only logical conclusion is there were multiple George Crosbys in Virginia in late 1600's/early 1700's, which I can find records that corroborate this conclusion; however, I cannot find evidence that lists their lineage.
