I as looking for information on George Edward Crosby born August 4th 1856 in County Monaghan Ireland. His father was Michael Crosby and mother was Alice Crosby (nee Bigby). Went to New Zeland in 1876. George married Catherine Vincent Dawber in 1989.

I have an Emma L b. 1870 to a David C. b1843 and Mary E. b1851 Crosby. Her married name was Bailey. 2 children (that I have found so far) Ellen b.1894 and Mabel b.1898. Don't know if it's the same of what you seek. Pls advise.

You will want to look at the Peeter Crosby family of Milltown (early name for Lakeland). I have been trying to make them related to me for many years. I just can't find the connection. However, I am very interested in anything you might have on William Crosby. Did your William Crosby marry Lovie Ann possible from Echols county? My William (1853)had a son named Wilson. Often the custom of the 1860's to name the son the mother's maiden name.

Im looking for any information for Crosby's that lived in Lakeland, Berrien, Milltown, Lanier, Tattnall, Georgia some Crosby's moved to Florida but most of them stayed in Georgia any information would be helpful. My grandmother went by the name Alath Crosby Wilson she died in Tattnall Georgia and i heard that she was buried in Lakeland area somewhere. On my GG Grandmother's (Georgie Ella Reed Crosby) marriage cert it says she was adopted by L L Crosby and Sarah Crosby. Georgie's birth parents are listed as James and Lavina Reed.
Georgie was born Feb 4 1848 in Long Meadow, Massachusetts, USA.
Georgie married Joseph Stafford on Jul 5 1867, in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, USA
Any information would be appreciated.

My name is Roberta Jelicks, nee Crosby I was born in 1941...my father was Robert John Crosby born 1904 he was the son of Robert Mincey Crosby born 1875 who was the husband of Anna Crosby nee Meyers born 1868. My father Robert John Crosby married Johanna Rudolph and he died in 1945, I have been attempting to trace back prior to David C. Crosby, I would like to find out if David C served in the Civil War in the NY 80th Regiment, also would like to find when the Crosby Family emigrated to the Americas

The only information I can find is that his mother was Anne Robinson, and John was the illegitamate son of a Mr. Crosby. John Robinson is my gg grandfather. I did not know about a German Crosby that may be a brother to William. I have not spent alot of time on this line and I have not run across that information.

I have two different "reports" on this family - both start with Willian and Elizabeth South Crosby.

My name is Jason Barnes. Sorry I don't have any pictures of German Crosby. However, I do believe there is a relation between your German Crosby from South Carolina and G.C. from MS. (Uncle/Nephew respectively) William Crosby that married Elizabeth South was also from SC. William and your German could be brothers? The birth dates are within a few years. I am looking for information on the Crosby's from SC. I have some information on the ones from MS as well as AL.

Hi Betty, Please do let me know what you find. I have only been able to find on branch of the N.E. Crosbys who moved south to New Hebron, Miss. around the 1850 or 1860s. I have seen two notes implying a relationship between the S.C. and GA. Crosbys and the N.E. Crosbys, but I have never seen any data on that. I believe that we will find that these early Florida Crosbys came from South Carolina through Georgia. However I would LOVE to find out any specific facts on the origins of Crosbys in the the South. Did they come from England, through the N.E. through VA.? Did they come some other route from Northern Ireland? I welcome any ideas or information. Crosby

A- James CROSBY b. South Carolina
listed in 1850 "old Alachua" Florida census as 55 y.o.
from South Carolina.
wife was Judy listed as 50 y.o. in 1850
Children in house are William H.H. CROSBY
10 y.o. and Angeline 3 y.o.

Angeline is the only one of these CROSBYS listed in the 1860 Alachua County census, where she is shown as 12 y.o.

B- William CROSBY b. Florida,1818
married Lydia BROWN abt. 1850.
Son is William J. CROSBY born 1862

I speculate this is in Bradford Co.

C- Andrew C. CROSBY
married Susannah BROWN
Son is William CROSBY born 1862

I speculate this is in Bradford Co.

Your assistance on the origins of any of these three Florida Crosbys is very much appreciated. I am from the William Joseph Crosby line born in Bradford Co. in 1868
(son of James Berry Crosby, son of Berry Crosby, son of Aaron Crosby from Colleton, S.C.). I am trying to determine if these prior Florida Crosbys are linked to the Abraham Crosby line from GA and SC or some other Crosby line. This would help many Florida Crosby family historians. Thanks! C.T.

all the old ones are dead. only by chance i found my great grandfathers name. no one kept any records that I know of. I have a cousin I will check with that has some pictures and he and I have talked but he didn't have half the information that I did. there's a chance that they moved from one of the carolina's. next move would be to check the census in 1840 for them there.

in Walterboro, SC. Could your John and Rebecca

This John Crosby married Rebecca Stanfield and to my knowledge had only one son, John Elias Crosby, b. 2/20/1856. He was my great-grandfather and I knew him pesonally. He did not die until 1953. My GGGrandfather John who was born in 1808 according to my notes had a brother named Paul who also was born in Colleton Co. in 1804 and died in 1888. Hi, I am a Crosby descendant, but my line all remained in New England. We are descended from a Simeon/Simon Crosby who was living in Billerica, MA, in 1650's/1660's. There was a great Crosby presence in Billerica for 200 years. Our line moved to Arlington and Winchester, MA, and connected to the large Hutchinson family in those towns. (They all loved to vacation in Maine.) I have the "History of Billerica, MA," and took a quick peek to see if any Crosby's might have headed south in the 1700's, but didn't find any. The surname I have concentrated on for 8 years is KIDDER. Kidders and Crosbys have connected throughout the early history of New England. So, when my great-grandparents were married in 1898, they were, unknowingly, something like 19th cousins to each other. (Kidder/Rice marriage, she desc. of Crosby/Hutchinson).

Hi, I have to go out for a while, so I'll look up more information later. But, while I was looking up various names in the Crosby chapter this morning, I noticed that one Crosby moved down to Missouri and opened a company down there. I'll have to look up the history of Missouri, because one of the KIDDER's who was the partner in the firm, Kidder, Peabody, (financial firm) was living in Missouri for a while, bought a lot of land there, and opened a large company there. Just found out that a town and its church are both named after him (Kidder, MO). Just as with the Kidder's, the Crosby's started out here, but, as they got educated, or "got their wings," they went out in ALL different directions! West, north, south...everywhere!

I found a Berry Crosby in Brown Cemetery, Starke (Bradford County)
dob 2/1809 death 3/1867. Also in Bradford County is Crosby Lake
and Crosby Lake Cemetery. Going thru some of my records I have
you might try looking in Lake Butler to see if they have any records.
Disputes and fires, alot of the the older records were destroyed. I hope this
helps. You could check also land records that might help you.

Hello. I am descended from Rev. Thomas Crosby who was Simon Crosby the Emigrant's 1st son. He arrived in America with his parents when he was an infant. I have data listing the ancestors in Holme on Spalding Moor, England but was curious what info you have. The book "Simon Crosby the emigrant : his English ancestry, and some of his American descendants", which is on ancestry here http://search.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=BookList&dbid=1184... has a chapter about the English ancestry of Simon Crosby. I am just wondering how accurate the info is. Is your book similar to this one in it's description of the English ancestors? Thanks.

I am not sure if you were sending this to me or not, but on my e-mail it said you had a connection to my John Crosby. Looking at some of the post you have made I don't think it has anything to do with my John.

My fist Crosby was Richard was born in 1646 in Moore, Runcorn, Cheshire England he was married to Ellinor Done in 1669-70.
His son John was born Aug 8,2672 also in England, he marries Susannah Dumbabin in 1719.

Johns son was Richard born 27 Sept. 1741 in Ridley Creek, Chester Co., PA/
Let me know if any of these fit your family. I have documentation for all.

Hi. I've been following your conversation. I have Crosby relatives that were from Gadsden County Florida but I can't find where they came from before then. My greatfather's name was Lauthin (Lofton) married to a M. Strickland. He had a son named Develard who married Annie Cornielus Caussauex (my dad's parents). If any of you run across these names, please let me know. I am also looking for Kelly's (mom's side)- it seems these people fell off the face of the earth and have never been seen again! Thanks.
