Jesse and Susan CROSLIN were among the early homesteaders of Oklahoma Territory. They settled in the part of the Unassigned Lands that are now in Deep Fork Township, Oklahoma Co. OK. Some of their descendants moved to adjoining Luther Township.

If anyone is researching this family, I have some additional information and may be able to answer some of your questions.

Hi, I am looking for the Murphy's that settled in Wilson County, Tennesse and I have ran into a block. My gggrandfather William Vantrease married Mary Ann Murphy in 1961 (born about 1829) and I cannot locate any information on her parents. I think that she had a sister? Sarah Murphy that married Ezekiel Bass, Sr. but so far no proof except census where a Mary Murphy is living with them on 1860 census. In 1870, no longer living with them. If anyone has any information I would appreciate it related to this I would appreciate any help and would be delighted to relate the information that I have.

It is said she was in Jackson County, Oklahoma in 1923.

I am brand new and just starting with very little good information about my father's side. My father Ray A. Croslin was b 1905 near Bowling Green, KY and died 1965 in Radford Va, when I was very young. He may have had a sister, no name. My Grfather was Jim (or James) Croslin, who lived in Bowling Green, KY and died in VA around 1959. That is ALL I know as I start my journey, but I would like to explore the Warren County Croslin connections with people still on this board. Please e-mail if you think there is a connection at croslins@bellsout.net.

I am a Croslin and have a great deal of information on my family. My Grandfathers generation was the first of the Croslin's with one "s" in thier name from our branch of the family. His father was a Crosslin.

her mothers Croslin side. I know my halfsister, Oletha Ann Linley Terry was born
in Shawnee and that is where her mom and our
father married. Her mothers full name is
Elsie Louise Croslin. She is deceased now.

Hi Wendy, the Elsie I know of was the mother
of my halfsister. We had the same father.
Her full name was Elsie Louise Croslin and
her first husband was Ralph Raymond Linley,
our father but we had different mothers.
As far as I know she had only 2 Children by
Mr.Linley and then remarried to a Mr. Faughn.
This all took place in and around Shawnee,OK.
Archie Wesley and Elsie Louise Croslin Linley
Faughn moved to the Modesto, CA area. There
are messages on this site from someone named
"Taryn", who answered my posts, her email
address is in them, try emailing her to see

where is West Frankfort anyway? We visited my 91 year olf aunt over Easter. She lives in Lake Forest ( near Chicago) she was estatic that I was beginning to delve into the past. When her parents moved to Central Illinois, she was only 4 so she knows nothing of the family history. I wash I had the time to devote to this that you do. Perhaps during the summer.

I just got some pictures developed of headstones at a West Franklin Cemetary. Some of these names were included;Ella Croslin,Alonzo Croslin,Zella Johnston Croslin,Harrison C. Croslin,Earl T. Croslin,Bonnie E. Croslin, George Croslin, Edna Ruth Croslin, Carl Edward Croslin,Arthur E. Croslin, Cena M. Croslin and I have some more names from a book that I have: Fannie, Hannah Louise , Hernry Wilson ,Jaqeline , John Croslin, John T., Laura C., Lawrence, Louise ,Lovella,Malissa, Minerva A., Pailee. Sarah Parilee, Smith Croslin, Thomas Jr.,Wilson, any of these ring a bell. I did find that Laura C. married John T. Croslin. John T Croslin lived from 1856-1921 and Laura C. lived from 1860-1937. These could possibly you g Granparents and if so youre related to me. But they are burried in Knob Prairie Franklin City Cemetary. Hope I helped some

I haven't a clue as to when this section of the Croslin family even came to America. My grandfather's name was Logan Croslin and he married Elsie Odle. I don't know where or when, but my oldest aunt died just about a year ago and she was 95 at the time of her death. Father always said that she was born when grandmother was 16, so they must have been married around the turn of the century. Other than that I know very little. I have no birth records on the ggrandparents; no death records either. Anything that might give me a clue in your archives? Would you consider sharing your geneology? Perhaps one of my elderly aunts would recognize something?

My family includes a Thomas Croslin a Elvira J Croslin and a Luella Croslin who married into the Felts family. Thomas Croslin was married to Elvira J Carter Who can be traced back to the gregorys Wests knollys Boeylns and even to the British Royal Blood Line through King Henry VIII. Now I don't know if these Croslins are related to you but you never know. Let me know if I help you any.

Ann, My Grandmother's name was Elsie Odle, but I am certain that she was from Kentucky or Tennessee. She was married at 15 and my eldest aunt was born when she was 16. My father was the forth child and he was born in 1911!!!!! It couldn't be the same Elsie as I remember her as a very small child and I was born in 1952. Sorry.

I have always been told that my father's family came north from Kentucky. Great-grandfather's name was John Croslin and Ggrandmother Laura. My aunts tell me that they lived near Frankfurt Il. I live in Michigan, and my dad was an adopted Croslin from Oklahoma and then California. My grandmother married "Buck" (that's the only name I know) and her name was Vivian Jo or Jo Vivian. I can't get past Albert Lee Croslin, Don't know who his parents were. story goes a Croslin immigrated from Scottland to Tennesee and had 4 son's 1 moved to New York, 2 moved to Kentuckey, and 1 moved to Texas. was Albert Lee one of the 4 Brothers? I don't know. not sure of how many generations of this line have been in America. one note Albert Lee was kicked out of Dallas County for Bootlegging Booze.
