I have quite a bit of information about Sarah's parents and siblings. I also have information about Sarah's grandparents, that I would be happy to share. Do you have information about Sarah, I don't really know that much about her. I haven't heard of any Indian blood in the family but it may have mixed in Sarah's line somewhere. Do you have an email I can send the stuff I have to?

Her maiden name is Muntz. She is the daughter of Josiah & Eliza Muntz. I am a descendant of Josiah & Eliza from one of their other children. Sarah & William were married on July 3, 1870 in Linn County, Iowa. You can find the marriage information by searching on familysearch.org. I have more information on Josiah & Eliza and his parents & siblings. I also have more info about his children.

Hi, I know these posts are a few years old and you may have found this information since then.

I believe Sarah Addie Crossfield Reed, was born Sarah Addie Muntz. She is the daughter of Josiah Muntz & Eliza Bedell. I am a descendant of Irvin Muntz, another child of Josiah & Eliza. Josiah and family also lived in Linn County, Iowa and then moved to Kansas. Actually on the 1870 census for Linn County, I think Josiah Muntz and John Crossfield were neighbors. Josiah Muntz was family # 38 and John Crossfield
was family # 39. I was contacted by a Hughes researcher, who believed this as well and said there is a marriage record for Sarah & William. I haven't found it yet. I just thought that for anyone researching Sarah Addie's maiden name, this information might be helpful.

*UPDATE* I found on Family Search where the marriage record of Sarah Muntz & William Crossfield was indexed.

Crossfield and/or McKinney

I am looking for information on an Ann Esther McKinney, born in about 1876 in Buchanan County, Missouri. Her parents were John A. McKinney and Delilah J. Stilwell. I have information that Ann might have married a Crossfield, but I haven't been able to confirm it. In 1890, after her father John died, her mother, Delilah applied for Civil War Veteran widow's benefits. On the application, Delilah listed a "minor" as Annie Esther Crossfield, leading me to conclude that her daughter had married. (Although that would mean she married at about 14 years of age.) I have found an Annie Crossfield paying taxes in Buchanan County in 1898 and 1899 but after that nothing can be found. Since she is paying the taxes and not a husband, I assume that her husband was deceased, in which case she could have remarried before the 1900 census. If anyone has information that could help please drop me a line.

Eva was the stepdaughter of my ancestor Levi Reed. Her mother Sarah Addie (Unknown last name), was married previously to William Henry Crossfield and they are on the 1870 census Linn Co. Iowa, enumerated in the household of his sister, Mary Church. William's father was John Crossfield who married Elizabeth Lott. Eva's sister Henri-
etta married Charles Edward Church in Iowa or Oklahoma and they relocated to California where she died in 1943.

Eva's husband was William Owen Hughes born 1871 MO. and in 1932 in Ark.

John Crossfield (1770-1842) VA-KY & wife Elizabeth?

I'm interested in the Elizabeth Crossfield who is on the 1850 census in the home of Elliott Crossfield and who died in Anderson County, Kentucky 20 Aug 1858. She was married to John Crossfield. The John Crossfield that I'm aware of who had a wife, Elizabeth, had at least 3 wives: Lucy Gardner, Polly Goode, and Elizabeth Middleton Saffell.

The woman who died in Anderson County was 59 years old. Elizabeth Middleton Saffell would have had to have been at least 10 years older at that time (she married Joshua Saffell in 1805).

Does anyone know if John Crossfield had a 4th wife named Elizabeth who would have outlived him? Or did the ages get reported incorrectly for Elizabeth Middleton Saffell Crossfield? Are there any cemetery indexes available. I believe there is a Middleton Burying ground in the area and a Crossfield Burying ground.

It is likely that the first name Crossfield comes from the English surname Crossfield - a locality name from places named 'Cross Field' or Crossfield.

In Cornwall this is reasonably common, the first name Pascoe is in my family and that comes from the surname Pascoe that is common in the area, I've also seen Rowe as a first name which has the same origin.

Kendall Charles CROSSFIELD; Keene/Roxbury NH connection

Hello all, but espescially those posting re: the Keene/Roxbury CROSSFIELD line.

My mother's father was Kendall Bates CROSSFIELD (b. 1902, Worcester, MA; d. ~1960, Danvers, MA?), son of Kendall Charles CROSSFIELD, whose heritage is connected to the Keene/Roxbury Crossfield clan but we don't know how. (K.C. Crossfield married Alice Bates, b. England, and they lived in Worcester until he lost his shirt in the stock market. They moved to Boston where they had boarders to make the mortgage) KCC's dad died young; KCC only had his mom as a teen, went to Worcester Academy.

Some of you posted things not included in the Keene birth, marriage and death records. I am looking for any info which might help me link K. C. Crossfield to the Keene clan (such as info re: the James & Roxanna Crossfield branch, their connection to the other documented Crossfields of Keene, and Crossfields since.)

Thanks in advance for your help.

I just found an ancestor and was wondering if anyone might be able to help me. I am looking for information concerning John Crossfield (John M. Crossfield) who was married to Cynthia Ann Morris (as far as I know). John would have been born about 1828 and Cynthia about 1834. I found them on census records and they were both born in Kentucky, but later in their life moved to Missouri (and surrounding areas). If you have any information that could help me out I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Stephanie:)

I just started looking at the Crossfield famiy in KY. Madie Belle (Crossfield) Redwine was born in 1889 in KY and died in 1970 in San Diego, CA. However she was taken to Gadsden, Etowah Co., Alabama for burial. I am tracing the Redwine family and wondered who she had married. My John Redwine was borm in 1904 in Gadsden. We don't know who his parents were. The parents of Madie and your Wallace were Charles and Ada L Crossfield (from the 1900 Census Idex). Do yo know anything about Madie? Please email me at: sueincovington@webtv.net Thanks
