I am looking for information on a lizzie crossnoe who is my great-grandmother. I know she married an Issac Payne and she had a son named Tom Payne, who was born in 1899 in Bardwell, Kentucky. I don't know how many other children she had. Please E-mail me with any info.

She was my grandmother. My father was George Long. His brothers and sisters were Cecil Long, Elizabeth Long, Bernice Long and a Half brother John Melvin Cummings. The only ones living now are Bernice and Libby (Elizabeth). I have been tracing my Ancestry and have quite a bit, but you can never get enough. Edna Carter

Shirley, I just saw your message on the board. Ada Crossnoe was my grandmother and Homer Long was my grandfather. I didn't know him well but I remember Silas Cummings very well. He was a wonderful person. My father was George Long. I remember my summers at their home, when it was a log cabin and after they built their new home. Every child should have such warm and happy memories. I would gladly send you the money to make copies of any pictures you have of them. I have very few. Ada Crossnoe (Crosnoe) Long-Cummings was born Sept 6th 1891. I have a couple pictures of her and her children by Homer Long. Another photo of Cummings, holding Ada's 5th (Cumming's) child.

Homer Long was my grandfather. He was borned in FayetteCounty TX on August 13,1884, he married my grandmother on October 26, 1906 in Jackson, TN. He died on November 10, 1957 in Ellendale,TN. He is buried in Jackson but not at Oakfield Cemetery but I don't know why I failed to find out before both my parents died. My grandparents were divorced around 1921 or 1922 my father was about 10 or 12 because he was born in 1910.

My grandmother was also Ada Crossnoe Long Cummings. I have some genealogy on the Crossnoe's. My father was George Long. All are dead now but Elizabeth (Libby) and Bernice. Libby live in California and Bernice lives in Halls, TN.
I have pictures of the cemetary at Oak Field, TN that I would be glad to send to you. I can't believe I am e-mailing a cousin I don't know. Who was your mother and father and where did you grow up. I live outside Memphis. I have been trying to find out all I can on the family but I waited until everyone had died. I have some information on my grandfather Homer Long but no pictures. Is he your grandfather Homer or Silas Cummings. You see Silas was more grandfather to me than Homer because I really never knew Homer. Silas Cumming was the kindest man in the world so to me he was my grandfather. I spent all my summers with them until I was about 14 years old at Law, TN outside Jackson. Did you know Peggy Sue, Bernices daughter, she and I spent some wonderful days together in their home.

We have a Tinnie Lee Crossnoe in my husband's family line. Tinnie was born to Berry Alonzo Crossnoe and Lillie Dennison (Frogg) in 1909 in McKinney, TX. It is said that Lillie is a full blooded Indian.

Any help that anyone can give us is greatly appreciated.

Ada May Crosnoe was born Sept 6, 1891 and died April 15, 1967 in Jackson Tenn. She was my Great Aunt, Aunt to my father Charles Franklin Crosnoe (Crossnoe) and sister to my grandfather Charles Crosnoe (Crossnoe). He also had a brother: Luther B. Crosnoe. Their parents were Thomas Melvin Crosnoe (Crossnoe) and Lizzie Eliza Allen (they had only 3 children). His (T.M.'s) parents were John W. Crosnoe (Crossnoe) and Malinda. We were related to some of the Hickerson in Perry Co. Tennessee, but that was on our Grandmother side. The Crossnoe name is so unsual that we would have to be related somewhere.

My father was Edgar Ross Crossnoe, his mother and father were William Henry Crossnoe and Ida Elizabeth Inman Tilley Crossnoe. Dad had one sister Ruby Crossnoe Smothers and J. C. Crossnoe all are deceased now. They also had three half sisters, Nora Tilley Inman, Pearl Tilley Inman and Cordia Tilley Phillips.

Ada's second husband may not have had the initials B.M. (Cummings) but rather S. (Cummings), as, my records on this matter are from verbal tales from one of my deceased aunts. But I am sure we are talking about the same person: Ada Crossnoe Long-Cummings (except it was spelled Crosnoe by her father, Thomas Melvin and her brothers, Charles T. and Luther B.) It appears that the Crosnoe/Crossnoe/Crossnore and perhaps the name Crosno, are all related.
George 1 Crossnore, born in 1750, first settled in west area of NC about 1786 (just after the American Revolution, in fact, just about the time all the English hired and captured Hessian soldiers were released from confinement. In fact, one of the battles involving Hessian soldiers was faught at Guilford Courthouse, NC.). There is/was a Crossnore township and postoffice in Avery Co. NC. The father of George 1 Crossnore may be George Kraussnauer of Hesse, Germany, as,(in one record)George 1 Crossnore is recorded as being born in Hesse, Germany and as deceased in 1812 in Benton Co, Camden, TN. Hi, My grandparents were William Henry Crossnoe and Ida Elizabeth Inman Tilley Crossnoe. William Henry died when my Father Edgar Ross Crossnoe was a small boy. The had 3 children, J C Crossnoe who died in December 1975 and Ruby Crossnoe Smothers who died a couple of year ago. My dad died December 25, 1996. We don't know much about the Crossnoe family. We do know that William Henry was married before he married our grandmother. He and his first wife lived in West Tennessee and we think they had two children. One was a boy who died in the first world war and a girl, but my sister and I don't even know her name. If this could be any of your family let us know.

My grandfather was William Henry Crossnoe and was married to Ida Elizabeth Inman Tilley Crossnoe. They had two sons J C Crossnoe who died in December 1975 and Edgar Ross Crossnoe who was my father and He died December25, 1996.

We have been trying to find out any background on the Crossnoe's but run into dead ends. I know the my Grandfather was married before he married my Grandmother. He used to live in West Tennessee. He has a son that was killed in the first World War. I don't even know his name. He also had a daughter and she lived in West Tennessee but I don't know her name either.

We have a very similar last name search. My family is from the boot heel of Missouri. My grandfather's name was Orville Crossno. He was born in 1908. Could this be a relative? I'm looking for any information on the Crossnoe family that lived in the Perry County Gibson County, Tn. I've traced this family back to William M. (b. 2/14/1847) Susan (b. 1847) (?) Crossnoe. I have very little info on this particular family. They had a son William Haywood Crossnoe who lived in Perry County, Tn that married Mary Martha Hickerson and later Cora Frances Myers. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
