Phillip Crosthwaite, 1825-1903

I am great great great grand-daughter of Philip Crosthwaite of Ireland who has much history in San Diego. My great-Aunt, (and grandmother who has past) is daughter of Rosario Crosthwaite, who was daughter of Charles and Rosario Crosthwaite. Charles Crosthwaite was son of Philipe and Josefa Crosthwaite. My great Aunt is turning 80 this next year and would love to help her find out more about our ancestry. Specifically she is looking for a book that was published from a series of articles written in the San Diego Union around 1850ish. These articles were written by Philip Croswaite and later published as a book. I believe they were a sort of diary, but not sure. If anyone can help me find information on this book and how I may be able to find a copy it would be the greatest gift I could ever present to my Aunt. she has so many historical stories about this part of our heritage and this would definately help close some gaps. Please help if you can with anything such as a name, publication date, etc,,

I am looking for any information on his
parents and family. I also know that Josefina Crosthwaite was
my great grandmother and she married Edward Warren Tucker.
Any more information would be great..

Pisgah Cemetery and Macedonia Cemetery in Audrain/Boone Counties in Missouri on my website.

You have my permission to "steal" these photos to include in your genealogy research. Simply right click on the photo and choose Save Picture As...

I have tried to put down what is on the tombstone but some are in really bad shape.

I hope you enjoy these and I encourage you to help the people who are maintaining these cemeteries by sending them donations (no matter how big or small). Both cemeteries are in excellent shape but neither have active churches to support them.

Lena Crosthwaite

Looking for information on Lena "McPherson"
Crosthwaite. She was born to Ronald/Rodney McPherson
and Lydia Bradley abt. 1884 in Bangor, ME. She was living
with her mother, her brother William and sister Mary
"McPherson" Salsman in Cambridge, MA in 1900. She
married Percy H. Crosthwaite Sr. in Boston in January
1902. She had three children...Alexander 1902, Percy abt. 1905
and Catherine Lydid 1910. Lena and Percy separated for a while
in 1908, but apparently got together again (1910 birth of daughter).
They are listed as a family in the January 1920 census in Boston, MA.
Percy Sr. was found in New Britain, CT in 1925. There is no listing
of Lena. Some family members believe they divorced, but I think
she might have died. Have looked in MA, but find no record of her
death.
I would love to find out what happened to her. She's my husband's
grandmother.
Any information would be extremely appreciated.
You may contact me through e-mail or write: Mrs. Charlene L.
Crosthwaite, 53 Southridge Drive, Willimantic, CT 06226.
Thank you!
