helping my daughter in law with her family lines. Her mother is a PARTINGTON and we have came across a union between a William PARTINGTON of Pennington England to a Anne CROUCHLEY b.around 1826 in Lowton England. They were married in 1845. Looking at Baptism records and some of the England census records we have came across a John and Ann that fit the time line of being her parents but just would like to make sure. Hoping to find others who might also be working these lines.
thanks
kim

Hi Tracey. Greetings from Western Australia. I came across your web site whilst researching the Murkett name from Huntingdonshire and although you appear to have collected a vast amount of information on this and other names, it is almost impossible to read any of the data due to the numerous 'pop up' advertisements that literally blot out the page. Did you realise that this was happening, if so, what is the point of publishing your research if no one can view it. If you did not realise this was happening, perhaps you could check it out and attempt to correct it as we could well have similar names on our trees. Sorry to appear negative but if the web page has a 'glitch' it needs to be fixed. I look forward to your reply, best wishes, Ken Homewood.

I am looking for basic information on Carrie Bates Keatinge Crouchley, who married E.A. Crouchley and lived in Hollywood, California in the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, I think. She was born Sept. 23, 1877 in Providence, RI. She married first Joseph M. Keatinge and lived in Lewiston Idaho in 1910 for a few years and then in Portland, Oregon. I am very frustrated and would appreciate any help. Thank you

Mother's maiden name

My Mother was born into the Crouchley family in Hindley, near Wigan, Lancashire in 1916. Her fathers name was Arthur and her Mothers name Maria Sarah. My Mother was just one of quite a large family. She had two brothers, Leslie and Harry. There were six sisters, Dora, Edna, Ida, Bessie (my Mother), Mary and Mildred. Alas only Mary and Mildred are alive. My Mother started her working life as a house maid then I believe as a shop assistant. During the war she worked in Leyland in a munitions factory making barrage balloons. She married in 1942 to my Father, John Charles Roberts, and moved to the Wirral to live with her sister Edna in Birkenhead whilst my Father was in the Middle East during World War 11. In 1950 we moved to West Kirby on the Wirral.

HI Mike

Thanks for your message. The names you mention do not immediately ring bells, but I will look into things as soon as time permits and let you know. There are a great many Crouchleys in the area, aren't there, so they may take some untangling! It would be wonderful to solve the mystery of Tom, so if you ever find out anything do let me know.

Thank you again.
Best wishs

Mary

Hi Mary. I am also interested in the Crouchleys from Golborne, but unfortunately do not know of a Tom. The ones I know are Ann 1856-1885 (my Great-grandmother) and her parents, who I think were John b1831 in Golborne and Jane.
Ann married Thomas Jones in 1877 in Leigh.
Do you know any links?

Hi. This is a very long shot but I wondered if by any chance you have a link with a Tom Crouchley, born Golborne, Lancashire, who emigrated to the US from Yorkshire to which county he moved when there was 'trouble in the offing' - he'd acted as guarantor for a friend who defaulted on a debt. He was a wheelwright by trade and I have a photograph, c 1890s of him working on repairing a cart. His wife refused to join him in Yorkshire with their children and she never saw him again. I've always wondered what happened to him. If you have any ideas at all I would be very grateful to hear them. Best wishes in your research

Sue:
My name is Dan Crouchley. I'm not sure if I know of an E. A. Crouchley in Hollywood CA, but our family definitely has connections to Providence RI. My younger brother, John S. Crouchley is an attorney in Los Angeles and found a woman in the phone book with the name Crouchley some years ago. The name is not that common so he contacted her. She was an older lady who had married a Crouchley who was somehow involved in the movie business. We still couldn't make a family connection. The lady's children were suspicious of my brother's motives and told her not to talk to him anymore and I think that was the end of it. But I could get you in contact with my brother to see if you can make any connections. Contact me.
Dan Crouchley
