Also, I have found that Anthony had a brother named Alfred (lots of Civil War Records on him), and their parents were Anthony Crull and Lucinda Hosier. Anthony, the father, died 17 Mar 1845 per Seneca County Coroners Inquisition. Died from exposure, froze to death along tow path of canal. But no listing of who his father or mother were.

Anthony Crull in Seneca Falls, NY 1860

I am trying to find any further information on these ancestors: Anthony Crull b. abt 1824 in NY, wife: Margaret Crull b. abt. 1816 in NY and daughter Martha b. 1854. This is the only census I can find on them. Martha Crull was married to a James Brown by the 1880 Census. I found a lot of Crull families living in Clarence, Erie, NY that seems as though they are probably related and am wondering if Anthony fits in with them. The heads of the families are: George and Jane, John and Barbara, William and Rebecca; David and wife (can't remember name!). If anyone has any further info on Anthony, would love to hear from you.

Washington State Crull family

I am looking for information on the Crull family who came from Illinios to Missouri and then settled in Washington state. My 3rd Great Grandmother was Emily Crull. She was the Daughter of Abraham and Jane Marlatt Crull. There were several Children in which I have some information, but would really love to put pictures to the names. There is alot of speculation on the trees I see relating to Emily Crull but no sourcing. PLease, if anyone can help shine some light, I would apreciate it. Emily was born in 1850 Mercer, Ill. Her family started west and was first seen in Walla Walla Washington in the 1860's where she married William Kinney. She is shown on Censes up to 1880 and then nothing. The cemetery records show no burials for Emily Kinney and state archive show no record of a death for Emily Kinney. There is however an Emily Crull who married a Homer Barry in 1935 - this however would make her 84 yrs old. Not completely unheard of, but questionable. The family seem to have moved on from the area. Where I do not know.

I have tons of info about Charles Monroe Crull, his wife Alma Augusta Bosworth, and their children Gertrude Elizabeth, Lena L, Mattie E, Emma Fay, Roy Charles, Elmer E, Alta F, and Frank Claude. This family has had all of their names muttled and mixed in nearly every census they are in but I have them straighted out!

Emma Fay is the birth mother of my grandfather, Otto J Penner. He was adopted (I have a copy of his adoption papers) in Kansas City, Kansas by Otto and Martha Penner and immediately moved to St. Louis, MO. I am still looking for the death dates and locations for some of them, and I have the marriage info for the girls who married; none of the boys did.

I hope this list is still active and that this information will help someone.
Cathy Champion

Elizabeth Custer who married Benjamin Crull is a daughter of my ggg/gf Paul Custer. Can you pinpoint where in Montgomery Co, Oh Elizabeth was born? My gg/gf Solomon Custer, a brother of Elizabeth, is listed in records as being born in 1816 in Montgomery Co, OH, 7 miles west of Dayton. Could the Crulls and Custers have been members of the Old Order Brethren or Dunkards and would these members live in close proximity to each other? Thank you! Jo

Michael Crull, b. 1822 Ohio

I'm the go-to guy on Rhodes families in early Montgomery, Darke and Miami Co., OH, and this man is listed a number of times as being the son of Margaret Rhodes and Michael Crull. There is only one Margaret Rhodes in that part of Ohio including Miami Co. where supposedly he was born. She was born 1802-03 in Montgomery Co. and married Joseph French in 1824 in Montgomery Co. There is no record of a marriage to a Margaret Rhodes and Michael Crull in Ohio in that era. Note that it is possible that she gave birth to Michael without being married and then his father died prior to 1824 when she formally married another man. Other than the obit of grandson Calvin Marion Crull that his grandparents were Michael Crull and Margaret Rhodes, is there any other evidence of this parentage?

Sorry about the delay in answering as I was in Noblesville, IN, doing genie work the past two days. I, too, have debated with myself as to which family Henry and Henry Pfaff belonged to. I can only say that in 1840 Henry and Esther were in Noblesville Twp., and in 1850 after Henry's death Ester Bowman Crull was still there. Henry Crull was in Wayne Twp., Hamilton Co., IN, just a short distance east. Henry Pfaff in the same year was in White River Twp., Hamilton Co., IN, a further distance to the northwest. Distance, in my opinion, means relationship. Therefore, Henry being closer to Esther in 1850 would be her son. Slim evidence, but that's it. As for Henry Pfaff Crull, I do not know who he belongs to.

I am related to the Henry at Hobbs. Do you have proof that he is the son of Henry and Esther? His death certificate does not list his parents and I was unable to find an obit. I have also heard of Henry Phaff as Henry and Esther's son, but his death certificate also does not list his parents. If my Henry is Henry and Esther's son, whose son is the other Henry?

Henry Crulls of Hamilton County Indiana

I am confused as to which Henry Crull is the son of Henry and Esther Crull. There are two Henry Crulls about the same age in Hamilton/Tipton counties at the same time. To confuse the matter more they are both married to women named Elizabeth (one Davis, one Gregory). I know which one I am related to, but which one is Henry and Esther's son?

Martin S. Crull was born in Newberry Township, York Co., Penn., July 6, 1841, and is the eldest of the two children born to John and Lydia (Shelley) Crull, natives of York County, Penn., and of English and German descent. The father followed farming until 1856, then engaged in the mercantile business until 1861, when he enlisted in the United States army for two years. The hardships and exposure undermined his health, which he never recovered. He died July 17, 1876. Martin S. remained on the farm until he was seventeen years of age, when he assisted his father in the mercantile business until 1862, when he purchased his father’s stock of goods and continued the business until 1876. He enlisted in the army; was mustered in Company B, Two Hundredth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, in the fall of 1864, and served till the close of the war in the Third Division, Ninth Corps. He took part in the battles of Spring Hill, Fort Steadman, Petersburg, was mustered out at Fort Ellsworth, Va., May 26, 1865, and discharged June 5, 1865. He was married to Mary Sipe in 1861. They have eight children: Henrietta, Grant, Clara J., Abraham S., Cecelia, Josephine, Daisy and Ada. In 1875 Mr. Croll removed to his present fine farm of 130 acres. Could there be a connection between Jacob and Benjamin?

Benjamin was born about 1820 in Pennsylvania. In 1847 he married Mary Ann Bay in Wayne County, Ohio. By the 1870 census, Benjamin and Mary Ann were in Henry County, Illinois with four of their children.
Judith,
I read of your post and I am looking for a Sarah E. Crull Dillman b. 27Aug1859 d. 19Dec1927 and I believe is buried in the Waggoner Cemetery. Your post mentioned a Sarah Jane b 27Mar1842. In 1910 Sarah E., age 50, and John W. Dillman, age 46, were enumerated "Sara" living on Kennedy's Valley Road; they m 1904. Sarah E. and John W. Dillman were enumerated in 1920; I am unable to find either of them in 1930. What is interesting about Sarah's husband, John W., (possibly my g.gf) he is enumerated in 1910 as in his third marriage. The John Dillman I am looking for may have been married twice in Brooklyn, NY.
Do you know of Sarah E. Crull Dillman and or her husband, John W. Dillman?
Thank you very much Frank Dillman

My grandmother (Jeannette Lillian Boyd) was born to Flora Addaline Crull in 1909. According to the 1880 census, Flora was head of household in the Village of Silvas, Rock Island County, IL.

Children living with her then were Harold S (18), Fay B (16), Nete (Newton) E (13), and my grandmother. My grandmother said Flora died of consumption later that same year (1920).

Grandma said her mom was married to ALFRED EMMETT BOYD in Grant City, MO. Although I'm just getting started on this side of my lineage, I am getting no where trying to find Alfred. He was supposed to have several brothers and sisters, but the only ones in Grandma's notes are George, Will, and Tom.

Any help greatly appreciated. Larry

Larry

Just a suggestion..... contacted Donald Grossman. He has a wealth of data on Crulls.. grossman10@yahoo.com He just might be able to help you locate Catherine Crull b: 1813.
Joan

Yes, I have information on this family. I've printed off your information to compare to what I have in my files. I will contact you when I've reviewed your information so that we can discuss this line in depth and your relationship to the CRULL line.

Re: Rebecca Crull Family - Hamilton Co IN

I know there were some Crull's in MO and KS. I have reviewed my Hamilton Co IN material, of which I have a lot, but find nothing on a Rebecca Crull born there nor in my genealogical database. Not to say she WASN'T born in Hamilton Co. May be an unpublished record or one I've missed. Since her father JACOB is a common given name in the family it would be helpful if you know Jacob's wife's name. I'm fairly sure your Rebecca is part of mine line as were LOTS of Crull's in Hamilton Co IN from 1830's-mid 1900's. I might be able to help further if you have some more information on your line.

You can correspond at length with me at my private e-mail address: GCrull@Juno.com.
