Crum book

I have completed the Crum book. All the info I have dug up for the past year, with pictures. Elias Crum's side.. there is info about his parents and their parents, his siblings and some names of their children. It has the whole line of Elias Crum's side though, all the way down to my children. It's approx 130 pages, with Index and Facts pages. It's in a three ring binder with page protectors. I was going to do a bound book but thought over time it would tear. This way the pages are protected of that. You can easily add to this book, just buy more page protectors. I will include 15 blank pages of the background that is in the book and 2 copies of a blank family group sheet. Email if interested!

Peter Crum, son of Johan Frantz Crum, who knows of this man?

Hi, I am trying to find information on a Peter Crum who was the son of Johan Frantz Crum of Heidelberg PA. Peter and his brother John moved to Green Co. Tenn. after the Rev. War, then I think Peter may have moved to Kentucky for a short time, then possibly to White County Tennessee, and finally to Jackson County where he died in 1835.

Do any of you know of this man's family? Do you know the name of his wife or the names of his children? Does anyone make a claim to his lineage? I believe he is the father of a group of Crums (Peter, Elias, Melinda and Hiram) who claim they were born in Kentucky between 1804 and 1814, whose children were born in Tennessee in the mid-1830s, and who moved to Tippah County Tennessee at about the time Peter Crum died in Jackson Co. Tennessee.

If you have any information on this Peter Crum (will, Rev. War pension application, court records, news paper account, Bible or anything of that nature, I would appreciate your help.

Best regards,
Darryl Crum
Miss Minnie Crum eloped with Henry Burk

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 2 June 1904, Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

While her mother was engaged in supplication at prayer meeting here last Sunday night, Miss Minnie Crum eloped with Henry Burk, her lover, to whom she was married. Another proof of the old adage “watch as well as pray.”

Crum: Adam, I: what's with his various dates, documentaion to Wilson?

Hi, all!

Please forgive my group email--I have been working on my KY, WVA, VA Crum family genealogy for many years (since a high school project) --well before the invention of the Internet!! And I've had, for a long time, our line of Crum's back through Adam III,. Adam II, and Adam I. As you can imagine this is no small feat. Especially as each child in each generation named one son Adam--at least for a while!
(So there were many Adam Crum cousins!)

So I have:

Shutta Crum, me
Melvin Crum, b. 1925 (living)
Benjamin Crum, (1886-1958)
John Wesley Crum, (b. 1862)
Adam Crum, III, (b. ABT 1843)
Adam Crum, II, (b. ABT 1806)
Adam Crum, I, (from pension app.ABT 1758.)

Beyond this "S. Six" (and by reference, Mr. Shockley) lists . . .

Wilson Crum, (b. ABT 1736)

Then "S. Six" continues with . . .
Anthony Crum (b. ABT 1719 in Germany)
Johann Anton Krumholz (b. ABT 1698)
Johann Krumholz (b. ABT 1674).

I was wondering if anyone could let me know what documentation/other information was used to go from Adam I to Wilson? And from Wilson to Anthony--Johann Anton--Johann?

Also, I found Jim Crum's posting on Rootsweb as to the Crum immigration very enlightening. My question is which Anton (Anthony) is the one cited above?

The Anthon that came over on the ship Edinburgh on Oct., 2nd 1753 was reportedly 40 years of age--making his birthday about 1713. IS this the one claimed by "S. Six" ( and Ferris B. Crum in his book)? Could be . . .
birthdates/ages recorded on ship manifests may not be exact. And this is close to 1719.

Or, as Jim makes a point, he thinks this is NOT the one that went to Winchester VA. As this Anton's will was probated in PA in 1765. (NOT VA.)

So . . . is our Anthony the other one? The one that came over on the ship Jeneffer, on Nov. 5, 1764? Seems late to me (and Adam, I, would have been born in Germany?) This Anthony had a son born in Philadelphia in 1767.

Or . . . is there another Anthon?

Or, would a will have been probated in a state other than the one where the person died? Could that first Anthon from the ship Edinburgh still be mine?

I know this is very confusing and difficult to sort out . . . I would appreciate any help you can give as to sources.

(And . . . what's with Adam,I's various birthdates? It's all over the place! Did he really live to be 95? In the 1850 census he claims to be 80 (and blind) making his birthday 1770. In various other census filings he claims to be the same age as Barbara(y) Horn(e), his wife. (born in abt. 1775). In his pension application for the Revol. War he claims to be 77 in 1834, making his birthday about 1758/59--which is what I have listed). What gives? Any ideas? I can see being a few years off . . . but as many as 12 or 13 years in the 1850 census?)

Thank you all for your time and patience!

Sincerely,

Shutta Crum
Ann Arbor, MI
www.shutta.com
http://blog.shuttacrum.com

Does anyone know Vianna Crum's maiden name? She was in Hickory, Love Co., OK in the 1930 census. Her husband was William R. Crum. They had four children listed Roy, Lloyd, Beaulah, George and Lloyd Wayne. I'd appreciate any help I can get. I can only find her on a few family trees and none of them know her maiden name. :According to the census, she was born in Arkansas. Thanks.
Have a william crum, children are cassius chance crum b.oct 6,1871 d.aug 11,1938..... Lennie or Linnis Crum b. abt 1877. cassius married eleanor benway crum b.8/26/1871 d.7/10/1953. Have a lot of information from here up just cannot connect williams father or mother. From Ohio. Eleanor was born in france, sailed to canada and migrated to the usa. The last name changed from crum to crom beginning with Cassius' children. I suspect that the name may have been spelled Krumm before Crum. I found a William Krumm born in 1838 with cassius as a child and eleanor as a wife but the birth death dates of this William do not match mine. If you have any info please let me know as I am very stuck here and need some help.
Thank you

Searching for my CRUM History

Hello, I hope that there is someone out there in never never land who can help me at least get started on uncovering my Crum history. I have very little to go on and no way of obtaining any first hand information. So here goes nothing!

Looking for any relatives/history for: CHARLES EDWARD CRUM Born 25 May 1935 in Ohio (I think?) I was told that he served in the US Army during Vietnam (?), but is listed as a truck driver on my BC.
Married 17 year old Brenda Joyce Nelson of Columbus, Ohio in 1961.
Both of his parents were living as of the mid 60's (I visited them one time when I was about 7 years old) in a brownstone on the south side of Columbus.
Charles remarried in the mid 60's and lived in AZ with his new wife and children.

This is all I have to go on, I have no way of contacting either of my parents to obtain anymore information and since his marriage to my mother didn't last long none of my living relatives have any information on his side of the family.

I am trying to build a family history database that my husband and I can share with our 3 children (and soon to be grandchild) and would like to include information on my fathers family.

Any help that any one can provide with names of parents or brothers/sisters would be greatly appreciated.

I can be reached by email shmatthew@columbus.rr.com

I have hit a snag in finding the death date for Nancy Stutesman Crum (she was the wife of Christian Janes Crum and father of (among others) Andrew Jackson Crum). She was born in 1803 in Indiana, married 27 Nov 1821, in Clark County, IN (Near Louisville), to Christian Crum. I have found her in the 1860 census, in Indiana, with Christian and the three younger of their kids. I know that she was buried in Clark's Chapel Cemetery, Scott County, IN, but I don't have a handle on the date.

Can anyone give a hand?

Thanks

My ggggrandmother was Sarah Crum born abt 1830. Sarah Crum married James Earls on 19 Mar 1846, in Floyd Co KY. Would anyone know who Sarah's parents might be. I have read that most of the Crum's in that part of KY were descendants of Adam Crum. I have reason to believe that Sarah's husband, James Earls was the son of Timothy Earls and Naomi Arthur.

I do not have a Crum line, but I am researching a Michael Ring whose second wife was named Susannah. I note that a Godfrey Crum (died 1810-12) had a daughter with that name who married a Ring sometime immediately before or after 1800, probably in North Carolina or Virginia. Godfrey Crum's will mentions this Ring male as Susannah's husband.

If you are researching Godfrey Crum and can enlighten me, please contact me directly as I am not a subscriber to this board.

Searching for Roy Crum from Elton or Johnstown, PA

I recently found out that my father was adopted by who I had known to be my grandfather. I learned that a man by the name of Roy Crum is my biological grandfather. All I know about Roy Crum is that he lived in or around Johnstown, PA around the time my father was born in 1948. I believe he may have been born in Elton, PA. I believe he would be in his 80's now if he is still alive. I was told he had another son by the name of Dennis Crum who would be around the age of 60. If anyone has any information on Roy or Dennis Crum from the Johnstown, PA area please let me know. I would be interested in possibly meeting them or at least knowing a little bit about them.

Can anyone help me find the David Crum family members who were in the 1850 and 1860 Clarke County, Mississippi Census? I have not found any of them in 1870 and 1880. I've searched every "soundex" spelling I can think of, but with no luck. The fact that only initials were used for some names in the 1860 census doesn't help the situation. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Crum family ties

Does any one have any information on the following people. I found these people related to me by a second marriage. They are Emma Crum (married my great great grandfather James Caldwell) and her children Marion (male), Henry and Viola. I found them looking over the 1900 census trying to get a clue when James and Emma were married. I knew that James' first wife had passed away but had no clue as to when where or how. Then I found that the 1900 census listed how long they were married that said 11 years so they were married about 1888 - 1889. Marion was born in September 1881, and Henry was born in February 1895 and Viola was born in September 1894. Emma was born in Jan 1860. What I would like to know is WHAT WAS EMMA'S PREVIOUS HUSBAND'S NAME??? WHEN WERE THEY MARRIED AND WHEN DID HE DIE?? HOW DID HE DIE?? WHEN DID SHE MARRY JAMES CALDWELL AND WHAT IS HER MAIDEN NAME?? HER PARENTS NAMES?? I could go on but I won't. She is connected to me but I have to find more information on her. My present and living family had no clue she even existed. So any help out there I would appreciate it. Did I mention she and the kids were listed as being born in KY. I am going by information from the 1900 census of Boyd County, KY (Eastfork)

Patricia Wulff (researcher of Jarrell(s), Caldwell and now Crum)

Looking for David Crum in 1840, b. 1807

Has anyone found David Crum that was born about 1807 VA. David is the son of Adam Crum b. 1756. David married Nancy Adair in 1830, they then had at least 8 children. I haven't been able to find David & family in the 1840 census. I was sure I'd find them in KY or VA but have had no luck so far. I have found them in other years, but I need to check the 1840 census.
Let me list the counties I've checked so far -
1840
Cabell Co., VA.
Bedford Co.,VA.
Russell Co., VA.
Tazewell Co., VA.
Logan Co., VA.
Lawrence Co., KY.
Floyd Co., KY.
Pike Co., KY.
Greenup Co., KY.
Now of course I may have missed them, with some of the census so hard for me to read. I will be interested in any leads you may know of.
David is my 3rd great grandfather.
Thank you, Connie
