Re: CRUM

Jacob Crum was born in either 1760 or 1763 in Virginia. He had an older John, who was born a few years earlier in Germany. Their Father Matthias Sr was also from germany and immigrated to Virginia.

Jacob Crum married Elizabeth Seapall and they had 8 children.

Hiram Calvin Crum, whom was one of their sons was married twice, as far as I can tell.. and had a LOT of kids..

I am related to Jacob thru Hiram /second wife Mary Timmons thru their son William R.M. Crum. It was either right after his first wife(Eliza Hughes) died or shortly before she died that Hiram moved to Mississipi.

From the amount of Crums buried in the local cemetaries Id hazard a guess and say some of Hiram's cousins came along too.

William or "Revel/Rebel"-sp? had a son George "Mark" Crum who married Mary Phillips.. They are my Great grandparents.

My great Aunt who is George and Mary's daughter is still alive and she remembers a lot of the people in the family tree who are now deceased.

Sarah Kelch Roe Cronin

I am searching for information on Sarah Jane Kelch Roe Cronin. Sarah Jane Kelch was born about Feb 1830 in Virginia. Census records show that both her parents were born in Virginia.

Sarah Roe Kelch married Basil Roe about 1850. Basil Roe was born about 1830 in Ohio, possibly in Monroe County. Basil and Sarah Roe were living in the household of William Crum on the 1850 Census for Elk Township, Noble County, Ohio. They had one child, son William Roe, born about 1852 in Noble County, Ohio. Basil died between 1850 and 1860.

Sarah Kelch Roe then married Samuel Cronin about 1861. They had four daughters (Martha b. 1862, Emily b. 1864, Mary b. 1867, and Charlotte b. 1869) in Washington County, Ohio. Samuel and Sarah Cronin are found on the 1870 Census for Liberty Township, Washington County, Ohio; the 1880 Census for Dalzell Township, Washington County, Ohio; and the 1900 Census for Liberty Township, Washington County, Ohio. Samuel and Sarah Cronin both died in 1906 and were buried in the Dalzell Ridge Cemetery in Washington County, Ohio.

Sarah Jane Kelch may have been a daughter of Leonard and Elizabeth Kelch of Tyler County, Virginia. Her son William Roe claimed to have a grandmother with the surname of Perry.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I didn't realize it goes back pretty far on Sarah's side with parents, g-parents,gr-grandparents.

If you go to LDS site and just put in Sarah Lanning the first thing that comes up is Sarah Lanning <1789>, open that and then you will see her parents names, if you keep opening names you will seem them all.

That way you will see them first hand.

Hi Rebecca, It is so wonderful to be reading these postings and come across all the names that are yours. That's how I felt when I reread yours. I was looking for some of your grandfather's children to see if I could get a phone number. Did you know Rosie Jones? She used to talk to your aunts Mable and Myrtle about the family. They were so full of information. I sent them both little recorders so they could tell us things as they thought of them. They didn't do it as far as I know. After Rosie died I lost touch with that part of the family. Are they still living? I am related to Thomas Crum's mother RosaLee Billings. Her brother John Booker Billings is my gggrandfather. Will you do me a favor and ask everyone in your family if they know RosaLee and John Booker and their brother Wm. Thomas Billings' grandfather's name? We found out that their father's name was Thomas J. Billings. I have that info if you need it. But none of us can find Thomas's father. I haven't done much with the Billings site but come visit again when you can. Judy Mount

I found a fragment record of Abraham Crum, husband of Martha Semones, where his father was listed as Matthias. I don't have more information than that as of yet. I found the info on the LDS Church site. I hopes this helps. I am looking for the same information, so please forward what you find. We have hit the same wall you have.

Re: Milo T Crum in Massachusetts

Hi Barbara,

Milo T. Crum was my g.grandfather's son by his first marriage to Abigail (Abi) Tuttle from Westfield, Ma. Go to Google.com and put in "Charles Russell Crum of Westfield, Mass" and you will come up with information in the first hit or two in the list. His father was Charles Russell Crum and Milo's complete name was Milo Tuttle Crum. He was named for an uncle on his mother's side. He had several children . 1. Arthur L., b. Nov. 13th 1872, died in 1946. 2. unnamed son born in 1874 and 3. Cathillia, born in 1877. Milo's wife was Eunice Estes. Milo was born in Chicopee, Ma 26 Dec. 1844 and Died in Holyoke, Ma on July 11, 1884. You can click on Google.com "A Family History comprising the Surnames of Gode, Godie, Goudie, Gaudie" by Mahlon Myron Gowdy 1919. I am Milo's father, Charles g. grandaughter by his 3rd wife, Eunice E. Esterbrook. I would love to swap any information concerning this line with you if you would like. Hope this helps. Regards, Carole B. Fowler
