Stephen Crump, New Kent Co., VA 1729
I am seeking information about a Stephen Crump who was in New Kent County, Virginia in 1729. The register for the St. Peter's parish shows that an Agnes Jones, wife of William Jones, "died at Stephen Crump's" on December 31, 1729. Another entry shows that William Jones died at (blank) February 28, 1729.
On old maps of New Kent County, there is a Crump's Creek the flows into the Pamunkey River. I would like to know if Stephen Crump lived in that area and, also, if he received land for importing settlers from England. I suspect that these Jones' may be my ancestors and that they worked on his plantation. Any information on Stephen Crump will be appreciated.
