Classification: Query
Between 1776 and 1782, 30,000 German soldiers were contracted for by the British Government for service in the War in America. 17,500 of them were from Hesse Cassel and 2,400 were from Hesse Hannau, or about tw0 thirds. Their commanger was General Knypyhausen, and thereafter these troops were referred to as "Hessian Soldiers". Just over 4,800 of them remained in this country.

Konrad Kramm was one of those and settled in NC after the war. He became Conrad Crump and has many descendents today. The first of those to be DNA tested has gotten his results, and now we would like to find one or two male Conrad Crump descendants to confirm the results, then we will be able to prove male descendancy from this line.

If you are a direct male Crump descendant from Conrad, or know someone who is, we would love to see him or them participate in this project. So far we have 38 of 42 test results in.

Reply privately to me if you like at kb5cx@cox-internet.com (night) or edcrumo@coughlinsaunders.org (daytime).
