I am researching my great grandfather whom name is Richard Cruchley. It is believed that he migrated to Jamaica from Scotland perhaps England in the second to last quarter of the eighteen hundreds.

Hello Milton:
Taking a long shot hear but I'm trying to get information on my grandmother (Katie Eichelberger). One of the daughters of Milton was Lillie Crutchley who married Francis Eichelberger. They resided in Frederick, MD and I have recently found out that they were foster parents for my grandmother. While this is not your direct family line, Milton is a common link. Is there any family info or stories concerning Katie that you are aware of?

James and Hannah are in my family tree and I am descended from their son Thomas born in 1768. James was the son of
Humphrey Crutchley/Ann Loe. Thomas was a nailer and lived in Burntwood near Lichfield. He married Sarah Partridge.

Eliza Elizabeth Crutchleys father was Obediah Crutchley (1853 - Staffordshire) and mother was Louisa Morgan (birth unknown). Louisa's father was John Morgan (birth unknown)

I am looking for any information on Charles William Crutchley, born abt. 1879.

I have a copy of his marriage certificate dated 1906, which shows his wife as Minnie Cox, and his father also Charles William Crutchley.

The marriage was in Westminster, and his address given is in Camberwell, London.

I have found out today that his mothers name was Eliza Elizabeth Crutchley. Can anybody help me find a birth record?

It looks as though she married a Price before becoming a Rees is 1920

I am looking for any information on John Stanley Rees's mother. All I have found is John's birth record (born 1921) which gives Crutchley as his mother maiden name. My mother can recall something about an adoption and that John had a half sister called Ada.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did your research find a marriage with a Phipps? Trying to find a connection with a Crutchley and Phipps concerning land records in Maryland referring to Crutchley's Choice.

The Thomas Crutchleys - and there was one in every generation - that I have researched for my own family are in Maryland by 1833. A Thomas R. Crouchley came to Virginia in 1618 from Oxfordshire, England. Another Thomas came to MD in 1676. My grandmother (1892-1965) was a Crutchley and in researching her family is where I found many Thomases. It does not appear to me that any of my Thomases are your Thomas; however, I suspect there might be a connection perhaps in England. I would be happy to continue a correspondence with you. Have you any information on Thomas Crutchley born in Stanton? Staffordshire England around 1833. He (as a widower) married to my Great grandmother Jane Hodgson (a widow, nee Jane Green) in 1885 in North Yorkshire. They had three children of this marriage. He is recorded as being a Hawker of Draperies. Jane Crutchley died in Durham at my grandparents home in 1914. I would like more info on Thomas Crutchley both before and after his marriage to my great grandmother. I even wonder if he changed names at any stage.

Richard Mitchell Crutchley was born in Bristol in about 1828. His descendants include a daughter, Mary Ann Crutchley, who is my great grandmother.

Crutchleys from Ravensthorpe

Richard Mitchell Crutchley b.1828? Bristol (father was Thomas)

Trying to find any information regarding the birth date and place of Richard Mitchell Crutchley. He married Caroline Eleanor Soames in 1849, and lived and worked in central London as a tailor.

Richard's father was Thomas Crutchley, but that is all I know of him, and I cannot determine who he had married or where he was living. Thomas also was a tailor.

Any further leads greatly appreciated.

I was told my family came from the UK when my father was
born. I have nno real way of knowing what or where about
anything in the Crutchley family. My fathers name was Wibur Fiske Crutchley the 5th. I seen this and thought I would see
if I could find something out about my family. My father left us
and was killed 28 years ago and I have no knowledge of my
grandparents at all.

Just saw your message in re Thos. Crutchley. I too am looking for surname Crutchley (John). In looking thru books at Salt Lake City FHC, I came across a THOMAS CRUTCHLEY in a book entitled "Annapolis Maryland Families" by Robert Harry McIntire. It listed Thomas Crutchley, Annapolis attorney; d. abt 1710; married (1) Margaret Baldwin, q.v., who d. about1690; m (2) Alice -----; died abt. 1697. Had(CRUTCHLEY): a. Mrs. Lydia Metcalf, b. abt. 1681. b. Ruth, b. abt. 1683; m. Richard Warfield, q.v. c. Thomas,Jr. d. Betteros, b. Nov. 17, 1693. e. Elizabeth.

I haven't as yet been able to tie this Crutchley family with my Crutchley family. The John Crutchley I've been searching for was married in Frederick Co., MD in 1815.

I think I have some more on Thomas Crutchley and family. If you think you would be interested, let me know and I will send it to you. Hope this helps you.

Hi Linda: Just received your reply to a query I had posted on the Crutchley Surname Message Board last year. Glad to hear from you. I knew about the Thomas Crutchley, Anne Arundel Co., MD but thus far have not been able to tie those Crutchley's in with my ancestor, John Crutchley who m Nancy Ann/Ann Chambers 23 Mar 1815 in Frederick Co., MD. They had their first child in 1816 in Harper's Ferry, Jefferson Co., VA (which I think is now West VA), so they didn't stay in MD. I know nothing about John Crutchley except his name and marriage date to Nancy Ann/Ann Chambers...nothing about his people or her people, although I do have info on their children, etc. I have a strong suspicion that my John Crutchley ties in with the Thomas Crutchley line but I have not been able to prove it. Since you live in MD, maybe you could find out more about John Crutchley (b abt 1790)for me. I would really appreciate it. I wish I had more info to give you, but alas, I haven't. I've been trying to find out about John and Nancy Ann/Ann Crutchley for about eight years. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Am seeking information on John Crutchley, born 1790?, where?. John married Nancy Ann or Ann Chambers in Frederick Co., MD on 23 Mar 1815. Lived at one time in Jefferson Co., VA (which is now WV), moved to Bond Co. IL around 1830; died about 1844 (have been unable to find out where he died). Any help will really be appreciated.

Hi Milton: I've been out of town...sorry for the delay in replying. On microfiche at an LDS Library, I found: Milton C. Crutchley m Catharine A. E. Clem 28 Sep 1864, Frederick, Middletown, MD; also, Milton Clay Crutchley christened 24 Apr 1874, Frederick, Middletown, MD. I have not been able to tie him in with my Crutchley's as yet. In my researching, I have found a lot of Crutchley's in Frederick Co., MD, and also in Anne Arundel Co., MD. I think there is a connection between the Frederick Co. and Anne Arundel Co. Crutchley's but I haven't found it yet. John, Ann and family were in Harper's Ferry, VA; they were on the Bond Co., IL census for 1840. Some of their children were born in Harper's Ferry, VA and some in Bond Co., IL. I do have some info on their children which I will gladly share with you if you think it will help.
