john and susannah also had a child named alexander who married sarah taylor. they had a child named william pinkney cudd. he is my great grandfather and he married mary blanche tucker. they had william delbert cudd that married tennie louise blackerby and they han sharon, karen (which is my mom), and tina. karen married jimmie orsak and they had me, jessica, sarah, and jimmie jr. i have 4 girls mercedes, ilana, deja, and jiszele.

Could someone please let me know if Lawrence W. Cudd (my dad) and his dad Robert H. Cudd and his grandfather William H. Cudd are kin to John Cudd (cherokee) or John Rufus Cudd who married Elvira Ray? Are these two John Cudds the same person? I also found an Asa Cudd who I think is the dad of one of these John Cudds. Asa Cudd is as far as I can on this family tree. My GG Grandfather John Cudd born about 1780 in Dartmouth Devon had a son John born 1832 in Sunderland Co.Durham England. I am trying to trace him, he was a Mariner in 1851 Census then disapperars. Did he perish at sea or settle in Canada or USA? Can anyone help?

Hello

I am very new to all of this and would be really grateful for any information or help. I am trying to find out more about my Father's side of the family. My dad John CUDD b1944 knows very little about his roots as his Mother Beatrice CUDD nee GREAVES died when he was 4 (she was around 30 at the time) and his father Frederick CUDD never really spoke about her or his own family. I am under the impression that Frederick's own mother died during his childbirth.

I believe that Beatrice had 2 siblings - Winnie and Jimmy.

My Dad has never seen a picture of his Mum so I am now attempting to play detective!

I would really like to know if she mentioned anything about Willie or if she knew anything about Willie's parents. To what I understand Willie took care of his sister, which is my great grandmother Linnie, when thier parents died. Linnie was only a year old and Willie soon after went into the service. I don't have any info from older relatives cause most all have died and they never talked about anything that happened in the past. Great grandma Linnie past away when I was 5, but she outlived all but 3 of her children. The only one living now is my Great Uncle and he doen't know anything. Everything he does know, I have found out and researched and told him myself. He didn't even know Linnie's parents names. I started out in the dark. I started to see some light, but came to a complete standstill.
If you know anything at all would be appreciated. I would like to have full names and birth/death date/locations if possible for Willie and Maggie's children.

Maggie Cudd born 1902 was my great grandmother, she had 5 children Mary, George, Annie, Marie, and a son. I would have to ask my grandma Annie what her brothers name is. Maggie Cudd had glaucoma and was blind in her last few years. Email me if you need anything else I spent my afternoons with Maggie Cudd my great grandmother. George died in a car accident in Ohio, Marie died in Arizona, Annie lives in California still. Mary lives Missouri.

Charlie bettie and Nettie (Jeanette) Cudd Bettie had four children live to adulthood. Tom Bettie, Beulah mae (Chamberlain), Jack Bettie ( John Marvin?) , and James Robert-(Buck) . They had one brother who lived to be 11 or 12. Welton. They also had some siblings who dies in infancy. I believe one was named velma (not sure) who died as a toddler. Charlie bettie people may have come here from texas and may have come to Medina from Dyersburg. Nettie's people may have came from Arkansas. Though Charlie and Nettie mostly had association in Gibson county (Medina) . They actually lived right over the line in Madison county. So some of their records may be there instead of Gibson county. Nettie had two brothers or half-brothers that I know of --maybe more-- Will and DAllas.

Charlie Bettie,s mother remarried "Uncle Billy King" father of Elmer King who is from Medina I think. But I don't know her name or her maiden name. I will post anything else I can think of if I remember it . Most of this information came from my grandmother- beulah mae Bettie Chamberlain -daughter of Charlie Bettie and Nettie Sue (Jeanette) Cudd.

Willie or Maggie Cudd

Been looking for some info for awhile but now I'm stuck again. I found a Maggie Linner Chronister-Cudd that died in 1997 in California. She was married to Willie Cudd that died in 1950. I'm looking to see if they had any children or if anyone has any info on Willie's family.
His parents were Owen S Cudd and Telitha Elizabeth Sailors. They had five children:
Lennie Lucille Cudd (my ggrandmother)
Willie L Cudd
John L Cudd
Lille Cudd
Homer A Cudd.
Homer died at age 3 and is buried next to his parents in Brosley, Mo. Lille died at age 18 and is buried in Dogwood, MO. John, I have no other info on other than he was born in Mar 1899. Willie is buried in Jefferson Barracks in St Louis, MO. Finally, Lennie is buried in Portageville along with a majority of her children.

Thank you so much for posting! I would love to know anything and everything possible about my PaPa, and family. Since he passed away at such an early age, my mom, who was only 12 at the time, Carolyn Ann Cudd-Gourdon, has maybe only 3 photos of him, and knows hardly nothing at all about her grandma, or any of the Cudd Family, other than through my cousin Charles and Fannie Strother. Charles' Mom was Earnest Earl Cudd's sister, Beatrice. She married Charles' dad, Uncle T.J. Strother.
I actually got to meet my Great Aunt Beatrice one time before she passed away, and I was so very excited, as was my mom. I could have sat there with them for hours just talking. But, I found myself totally intrigued by her zest for life, and the sparkle in her eyes.
My e-mail address is gkgourdon@yahoo.com, and I would love it if you could send me any information that you possibly could. I've been searching for years, and my mom asks every once in a while if I've found out any new information. And I'll fill her in on whatever bits and pieces I can.
I have a strong connection to family, and my mom was deprived of a connection with her dad because of Emily Johnson, who is my mom's mom. I never called her grandma when she was living, because of the way she treated my mom, and refused to allow her any contact with PaPa Earl, or any of the Cudd family. Thank God my mom moved in with my Auntie Marie Gordon, and my Uncle Ellis Gordon. Otherwise, she'd have been abused even more than ever. Emily's third husband, Clyde Creel, abused my mom so much, and it's amazing that she's the strong woman that she is still today. And she is the sweetest, and most beautiful, inside and out, woman that I've ever known. We are not just mom and daughter...we are best friends. That's why I'm putting this book together about the Cudd Family. I'm doing it for all of us as well. But, this is something that I aim to put together and give my mom one day, and hopefully, whether it brings laughter, or tears, she will be proud.
And maybe someday, there could be a reunion where we could go, so we could connect in person with our cousins, aunts, uncles, and our fore-fathers. What a great day that would be...to have a Cudd Family Reunion. Thank you, and I hope to hear from you very soon.

My mom is Earnest Earl Cudd's daughter. Her name is Carolyn Ann Cudd, and married Leroy Ellison Gourdon I who passed away May 5, 2005 at the age of 61.
Her dad passed away when she was only 12 years old, so I've been desperately searching for information to put together as a gift to her a sort of book that tells of his short life.
I also know that he had another sibling, Beatrice Cudd, who married T.J. Strother of Oakdale, LA. Both have passed on. But their son Charles still lives with his wife in the Oakdale, LA. area.
I was not aware of the Earnest Earl's other sister, Audrey. I have heard my mom mention her Aunt Maggie, but never did have the opportunity to meet her.

Hi, Alice Maud Cudd was born in Birmingham on October 4th 1873, daughter of Joseph Cudd and Ann Matilda Sarten; I have a copy of her birth certificate. The family set sail for NZ in August 1875. Alice's father Joseph was born in Dublin, Ireland ca. 1841, son of James Cudd & Eleanor Dignam. James was born in Birmingham ca. 1816, son of Joseph Cudd & Charlotte Jones. I have lots more on this family and I am a descendent of Alice's 3xG.Grandfather John Cudd.
