Hello Cuevas,
I’m Esteban Cuevas, and I am into genetic genealogy. My Cuevas branch is from Puerto Rico, and most probably our Cuevas came from the Canary Island and Majorca. Decendants from the Cuevas that migrated there from the Seville, Andalusia,Spain. According to my genetic genealogy our Cuevas branch is of semitic origin carring the genetic marker group J2. High probability of Jewish ancestry if u do a quick internet research under Cuevas and Jewish. Variant names are “de Cuevas” , de las Cuevas, and de la Cueva. Since Cat Island, Juan de Cuevas came from Seville, Spain. I wonder if the two Cuevas branches are related. I hope any male Cuevas from Cat Island is interested in genetic genealogy.
