Culbert Connections
Hi,
My name is Donald Edwin Culbert. I am the son of Donald Stewart Culbert. His mother is a Gibbon or Gibbons I believe.
Im not exactly sure. I have some family history knowledge but Im not too sure what to make of it. Perhaps somebody can help.
To date this is what I know:
-connection to Louisiana (silk trade)
-connection to Swastika, Ontario, Canada.
-grandmother had a nickname "Queenie". Her children are
Les (Thunderbay, Ont. Canada), Lorne (Creston BC, Canada),
Gordon (North Bay, Ont. Canada), Zelda (Zephyr, Ont. Can-
da and Donald (Regina, Sask. Canada).
-connection to Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada
-Roebucks (Sears and Roebuck) some where in southern Al-
berta, Canada
-grandma Culbert was born in India. Her father was in the Brit-
ish Army. As far as I know my grandmother attended a
school in England that was administered by nuns or at some
time in her life, lived in a convent in England.
-grandma Culbert lived for a time in Zephyr, Ontario and
worked as a cook or a baker at a hospital in the Toronto area.
-she raised her children for a time in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
after her and her husband seperated. Last I heard he was
living in the Smith Falls, Ontario area. I believe he has
passed away.
I may have other information regarding some of my ancestry
but at the moment it is probably suppressed somewhere. If you believe that I can help you in your geneaology search, or you feel you can help me, please contact me at real2canadian@yahoo.com
