Hi, Sandy, Got your email on Sat. Evening...we were gone for a couple of days. Sorry for the mistake on Arkansas...didn't realize she was a girl...so I guessed a boy. Yes, Arkansas was Sarah's sister. Here's info I have on my G-Grandma, Mary Ann Galloway. Her 1st marriage was to John B. Riddle born in Mo., who was also born in May, 1875. Her mother Sarah, at that time Spears, gave consent for her marriage (marriage records Missouri 1805-2002). marriage date: 27 Oct 1892 in Stoddard County, Mo. They had 3 children - Fred Riddle born in 1894; Ezra Riddle born 1897; and Emma (Eramanthia), Riddle born in 1899; all born in Mo. This info from the 1900 Census.
On 22 Apr 1900 Mary Ann married my Great-Grandpa, Miles Jefferson Gulley born Jan 1854 in Tenn. and died 1945 in Parma, New Madrid, Mo.(MO marriage records 1805-2002.) in Stoddard County, Mo. The 1900 Census shows Miles J. Gulley, Mary Ann Riddle, Bertha Gulley born Oct 1887 in Tenn. (child from his 1st marriage), Fred Riddle born Ezra Riddle, Emma Riddle. The Riddle children are listed as step-children of Miles. All Birthdates and place of birth the same but it lists Mother of Bertha as Mary Ann, but she was the step-mother of her. John B. Riddle must have died by then. Also 1900 census shows year of marriage and how long married as the same as Mary Ann and John B. Riddle. Don't know why...strange.
Miles and Mary Ann had 7 children: Lela b 1901, Alma b 1903; Opal Marie 1905-1939 (my Grandma); David Henry b 1908; Lillie M. b 1911; Robert Orlando 1912-1997; and Magnolia b 1915.
BACK TO MARY ANN AND JOHN RIDDLE ---- they did not have a child named Florence that I'm aware of; however there was a John W. Riddle married to a Mary Galloway and they did have a child named Florence in the 1900 census.
Sorry for such a lengthy message but a lot of info to cover.
