My father was Patrick Brian Culligan, he went by Brian. He was born 1/19/1950 and died 6/27/1990 in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. I don't know a lot about my father's side, to be truthful, nothing really. PLEASE, if you have any information, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi, I am a Culligan from Kilrush and I have a record of all the Culligans from Kilrush from 1827 to 1900 approx. I will go through my listing and see what I can come up with relating to your Thomas Culligan. My e-mail address is pj.culligan@magellangroup.net . Sent me an e-mail to that address and I will try and find out which family your Thomas came from and discuss the Culligans further with you.
Regards from Co.Clare Your Ancestral Home.
P.J. Sorry, I don't have any more info but nothing available within the family, other than he may have lived at Thom St (????) Toronto. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Elizabeth Redmond was my great, great aunt and I have her listed as Beatty, Betsey and Boley as her first name, but these could be typos. I also have her signature on an autograph book of my grandfathers. I am very interested in finding out more about her parents James and Mary Redmond who emigrated to Williston, Vermont through Quebec and died in Williston in 1873. Please let me know anything you know about these ancestors.

Thank you,

I don't know of any Culligans coming from Ogonnelloe. There was two lots of Culligans in Co.Clare, one lot in the Killimer/Kilrush area of West Clare and the other in Clooney/Quin area of East Clare. Her father was Michael Culligan and mother Nora or Honoria ?, don't know her maiden name.

Culligan (c. 1819) in Ogonnelloe Parish, County Clare Found!

I have been searching for my great great grandparents on my McNamara side for many years, and last night I believe I found confirmation that they are Daniel McNamara and Mary Culligan from Parish of Ogonnelloe, County Clare, c. 1819.

I am also continuing to search for links to Moylans from Co. Clare and Kellehers from Macroom, County Cork.

Breakthrough!! -- My great great grandparents and more

A major breakthrough tonight -- I found someone else's family tree with lots of missing details back to my great great grandparents in Ireland, about 1819! This is excellent confirmation of the possibility uncovered by the research I had done by the Clare Heritage Center starting last October - that Patrick McNamara was baptized 14 December 1839 (see summary of report below). It was only a circumstantial possibility that this was my Patrick -- the new tree
(Cherie's Family Tree) confirms it and adds much more information and relations.

See Cherie's public tree at Ancestry.com. (Apparently, I'm not permitted to post the link here.)

Very interesting that Daniel and Mary (Margrit) are shown in this tree as residing in Eastman, Crawford, Wisconsin in 1880, then died in Normanby, Lincolnshire, England

Clare Heritage Center, in report, Ref: 25562, dated 30 April 2008,
stated that only two Patrick McNamaras were located as being baptized
in December 1839 in all of Co. Clare. One was baptized 5 December
1839, the other, 14 December. So, if Patrick McNamara was born 12 Dec
1839, as his tombstone states, he would not be the Patrick baptized 5
December, but could be the one baptized 14 December. Heritage Center
reports that it was common to baptize children within a few days, due
to high infant mortality. Location is Parish of Ogonnelloe, County
Clare. Daniel and Mary also had a daughter, Anne, baptized in
February 1842.

Therefore, this is the best available evidence to suggest that Daniel
and Mary Culligan were parents of Patrick McNamara, born 12 December
1839.

Patrick McNamara

I bought a old photo album that has the clipping of Rev. John C. Culligan pastor of Methodist Church Chamount Ny married a Daisey May French of Antwerp Ny Dec 18, 1900. The clipping is pasted to the back of the album. I've been going to Re do the album for my own use, but doing family research myself could not bring my self to destroy this information. There are other clippings pasted in the book, Cratsenberg,Henderson, Copley, Horton, Ryder, Pomeroy, Warner, who is one of my lines of research but different family. There is also the name of Tremper on pages. I expect it was a Warner who was owner as most pages have Warner Tremper Horton There are names on the pages in ink no photos. Hope this helps. I am willing to sell album if you are interested , for what I have in it. Jean Randow

John James Culligan

My father was born John Richard Keevil in 1919 but was baptised as John Richard Culligan. He moved to Ireland possibly being adopted by his mothers family. Her name on the birth cert is Margaret Keevil nee Burne. From family memories lived in Co Cork and then went to Artaine school. On his marriage cert. his father is shown as John William Culligan (soldier and dad's middle name was now 'James'. It is possible the he had step brothers in the RAF. Unfortunately Dad wouldn't talk about the past. Any help appreciated.

She still lives on the old Culligan farm property called Spencil Hill, just outside Ennis. Unfortunately I have not met her. I believe she remarried and had a child (son?). My mother may still contact her from time to time, and I know that my aunt Kathleen Culligan still has contact with Clare.
Although it appears most Culligans are from Co Clare, our line is from Ardee and Drogheda, Louth. Any Cullligans descended from my great grandparents Stephen and Catherine McGuggurt? My grandpa, Stephen, came to US in 1904. His siblings were JOhn, Laurence, James and Bridget. Don't know if any of them came to US or stayed in Ireland. Anxious to hear fromyou.
