My gggrandmother was Margaret Cumming(s)(apparently the "s" was added or dropped depending on who was doing the writing). She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, 1870's, father was a minister. Only reason we can figure out for the family migrating to Canada was that her father was sent to the Scottish settlement there. She married a man named Bernard and they had a son, John Ross Neville Bernard. The family, minus father Bernard (reason unknown) eventually moved to San Francisco. Both Margaret and John Ross are buried in S. F. Margaret apparently was not Catholic, Protestant perhaps(?), she was buried at Cypress Lawn, not Holy Cross in S.F. Anyway, if any of this sounds remotely familiar, please e mail me, I'd really appreciate any info.
