I am trying to gather as much information as I can on the Cuneo Surname and would like to hear from all relatives of the Cuneo Clan... I presently have over 300 people on my Family Tree and looking to aid as many as possible.

Cuneo - Geobel or Tead marriage

I am looking to see if there is a connection to Elizabeth Cuneo of DuBois, Clearfield Co. PA married Floyd Tead of Kinzua 1931

or Florance A. Cuneo also of DuBois married Bernard J. Goebel of Clarion, PA. 1926

My Great Great's were Charles & Mary Cuneo of DuBois. I know they had Elizabeth (perhaps that of above) Viola, Loretta & Ethel Margaret. Charles was a minor so would have easly moved in other Co. in that area of PA.

Recently I learned that possibly my greatgrandmother Caroline Juri was the founder of Bank of Italy. I have a poor copy of her Will, but one of the names referred to is Cuneo. She died in 1922. Does anyone have information regarding Rinaldo Cuneo or P.J. Moliterno? I am totally lost as my father would not talk about his family.

1. Maria Maddalena, b 3/2/1809. Married Nicola Cuneo 11/27/1829, six childern: Geronima, Caterina, Maria Rosa,Giuseppe, Margherita, Giovanni

2. Maria Nicoletta, b 8/23/1811. Married Giuseppe Soracco in 1829. Five childern: Stefano, Maria Rosa, Stefano Pietro, Francesco, Giovanni Battista

My grandfather Nicola Cademartori (one of four brothers, all of whom are believed to have emigrated to the United States between 1890 and 1910 was married to Angela Cuneo. They had four children, three girls, Olga Elvira, Beatrice and Lydia, and one boy, James Arthur, my father. Only James had issue, six children, all living as of this posting. We are James Arthur, Helen Angela (Hobsen), Robert William, Kenneth Carl, Donna Marie (Chappell), and Doreen Ann (Johnson). And since some of us are already grandparents there are many more Cademartori/Cuneo descendants as well.

I have a Book (more like a Brochure) calle the The Cuneo Museum & Gardens. This book is in full color showing the mansion that is now a museum. This book was obtained from a cousin (deceased) who contacted John Cuneo in Chicago John Jr's grandfather was my great grandfather's brother. According to family history. They were from Cuneo Italy of the upper class. They came to America going through Ellis Island. My great grandfather named John F. Cuneo migrated to Alabama and then on to Tampa, Florida where he is buried in Wood Lawn Cemetery. If anyone has any further information on the rest of the family, I would be interested. My mother's name is Cuneo. I have not researched this family much as I've got so many more ancestors that I'm researching. If you do a search for "Cuneo Musuem" it will pop up and give you some more infor. John Cuneo did marry Julia shepherd , grandaughter of one of the founders of the Chicago base Crerar-Adams Railway Supply Company. As a note of interest The Cuneo Press is one of the largest printing companies in America and prints many of the most widely circulated mags. etc Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, etc,

His father donated the land for the Frank Cuneo Hospital and John Jr. oversaw the building of it. The Cuneo's owned many other companies too numerous to name. If anyone can get a chance to go see the museum it is really something to see according to the pictures. I got as close as 300 miles this past summer, but my schedule would not allow me to go to Chicago. If anyone has the family history prior to John Sr. I would love to hear from you. Nancy

Late of San Bruno, CA and a San Mateo County resident for over 50 years, entered into rest on November 27, 2004. A native of Jackson, CA; age 87 years. A teamster for thirty years, he was a retired employee of Knudsen's Dairy. A veteran of WWII having served in the U. S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West and was a foster parent to over 30 children. In addition to his beloved wife, Jane, he is survived by his loving sons, Peter (Sharon) Cuneo and Christian (Ellen Merritt) Cuneo and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Brooks. He was the dear brother of Roberta Guerra and the adored grandfather of Eric (September Jarrett) Cuneo, April (Aaron) Allenbrand and Emma Merritt Cuneo and great grandfather of Justin Cuneo, Ian Cuneo and Ty Allenbrand. Friends are invited to attend Memorial Services 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1600 Santa Lucia Avenue, San Bruno, CA. Looking for info re family Cuneo. My grandfather, John was born in New Orleans in 1869. He was taken to Italy as a child because of diptheria outbreak in New Orleans as a child. His father remarried in Italy in a small town called Alpipiana just north of Genoa. He had two half brothers - one emigrated to Colorado. Would like to get news of that branch of the family. Cuneo who taught Chemistry at Los Angeles High School and dies February 14,2000 in Kauai, Hawaii. He left a wife Kay Shitani Cuneo and a son Walter. Mary "Phil" Betti was born in Italy in 1875. Her mother died early on and her father, Eugene Betti, brought her to San Francisco in 1877 (approx) when she was 2 years old. Eugene must have died soon after as Mary told her grandchildren that she was an orphan being raised by aunts in San Francisco. They made her work for money at age 7 or 8, taking in laundry. Mary's mother's maiden name was Malerbi.
After she and my g-grandfather , Frank Cuneo, were married, they took in a baby named Myrtle De Vecchi,(b.1899) but she disappears from the picture and I have no info who she was. My grandfather , Francis Richmond Cuneo,(b.1906) and his brother, Joseph Cuneo,(b.1904) were born in San Francisco but the family moved to Sonoma County in 1914. Looking for info on my g-g-grandparents. Martha was born in Kentucky but raised in Texas. Her father was born in Georgia. George was born in New York. He came to Calif. in the 1850's to be a gold miner. They lived in San Francisco and Oakland. My grandfather. Arthur, was a plumber in Healdsburg, Ca. He married Anne Blanche Tierney.
His sister, Eva Edwards married Milliard Merrell and they lived in Groveland but may have owned a quick silver mine in Fallon, Nevada.
Arthur was the father of Carmel Cuneo (Santa Rosa)and Helen"Babe" Basford Mead.(Healdsburg) Carmel was my grandmother.

I'm looking for information on my G-grandmother Dorinda Cuneo and any family ties or where home was in Italy.

She was born in NY in the late 1840's/early 1850's, but sent back to relatives in Italy when her parents died en route to CA. She married Agostino Cella and emmigrated in the late 1870/early 1880's.

As you can tell from the history, any help would be appreciated.

I am looking for decendents of John B. Cuneo born 1824 in Italy immigrated to New York about 1855, married Sarah Reynolds in 1857 in Alabama, served in General Clantons' Montgomery Arttillery for the CSA, had four children: William Joseph - 1860, Carroll Robert - 1864, Annas Ida - 1868, Lorena Susannah - 1872. Migrated to Tampa, Florida in 1879. John is buried in Woodlawn, Tampa, Florida. William Joseph, my grandfather, married Lula Worth, (Mother - Jeannette Carroll- Ireland) in Tampa After his fourth child was born he left to go West looking for gold about 1890 and was never heard from again. Lorena married Albert Richards and Ida married Albert N. Littlefield; both were married in Tampa and died in Tampa. I have no information on what happened to Carroll Robert, but I do have the complete genealogy up to 2004 for William Joseph's family and I would love to contact anyone that is linked to John and Sarah Cuneo to share information and photos. Am searching for information on Cuneo family from the 1900 Census in Louisville, Ky. Mary Cuneo, born in Italy in 1831. Her son Antonio, born in Italy, son Joseph P. Cuneo, born in Italy in 1859, daughter Catherine A. Cuneo, born in Ky, and Mary E, born in Ky. The 2 girls did not marry but lived together until they died. I have an unknown female Cuneo from Italy in my ancestry. She married an unknown male Ratto in Coreglia, Prov. Liguria, Italy (mid-1800s) and never left Italy. They had 4 children in Coreglia: Catherine, Rose, Giovanni B. ("Baciccia", 1870-1940), and Francesco (Frank) Ratto (1961-1929). They all emigrated from Coreglia to California (Clinton, Jackson and San Francisco). Francesco Ratto's son was Armando Ratto. Armando's daughter was Elena Flora Ratto (Figoni), my mother. There are many other Cuneo and Ratto descendants in northern and central Calif.

She was born April 22, 1927, in Melbourne, Florida, to John and Suzanne Jones.

She was a co-owner and operator of Happy's Bait & Tackle Shop in Inverness for 18 years. She was protestant

I am looking for information on Cuneo ancestors in Pittsburgh, PA. My grandmother was Lena Cuneo, born in the US in about 1900. She married Thomas? (possibly Guiseppe) Inserra. Thomas died in Pittsburgh in late 1941. Lena had two brothers, Victor and Emanuel, both of whom served in the AEF in France in WWI. There was also another sister, possibly named Mary. Lena's mother was Rosa (Basso?), and her father was Stephano Cuneo. It appears that Stephano came to the US in about 1896, and that both Victor and Emanuel were born in Italy. Any information on these people would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for information on my great grandmother Ethel Margaret Cuneo born in the Dagus Mines of PA. She married a Watson and I believe a Moore in PA before she went to Calf. She is said to have been one of 12 children, but I can not find them. She would have been born abt. 1903. I hope someone can help.

My grandmother, Dorinda Cuneo, was born in NYC in 1856. Her parents were John Cuneo and Dora Casenelli both of whom were born in italy. Where? Are there any Cuneo families that recognize this couple? Story is that he or both were lost en route to gold rush (in Panama). Before her marriage to Augustino Cella Dorinda lived at 15-17 Baxter Street and after in Jersey City,3 Vandam Street and 8 King Street in lower Manhatten.

My grandparents and aunts and uncles were Cuneo and were in the Riverside area of New Jersey. If anyone has any information, I would love to hear from you. My grandparents were Fred and Catherine Cuneo and my uncles were Anthony and James. My mother was Rita and she had a sister Sadie. Jim moved to Philadelphia and married Jenny Vena. Tony married Lucy Cugliotta and lived in Riverside. Sadie married Gus Zappa and lived in Philadelphia and then Pennsauken and then Riverside before she died. Rita married my Dad Jack Stow and we lived in the Burlington Township area of New Jersey. Would love to hear from anyone that may know any history.

She had a brothers George and Elwood and a sister Florence who married a Werhan. Ann married Jamed McPherson Burkhardt and they had one child, Joan Ann who married Edward Mc Cauley.
