Virginia: Would like to correspond with you on Cunningtubby family. I have some data and working on more though not directly connected with the line. My great grandmother, Mary Jane Dabbs married Elias Cunningtubby in Davis,Oklahoma. She had first been married to Sam McClellan in Texas but they were divorced.

thanks for answering my e-mail. i was sooo excited about finding the name Cunningtubby on a family history page. i have been looking for family members from my grandfathers side for a long time. i got most of the information from my dad's sister and she gave me the names elias and joe as her dad's brothers.

i live in seattle, wa, but most of the family still lives in oklahoma, texas, and new mexico.

thanks for replying to the message. aunt sookie (ina) lives in davis, ok now. she moved about 3 years ago. uncle jute is still living in ok too. ardmore i think. on aunt chich i found her in ssdi (lina washburn), but i hadn't seen anything about uncle dan. my mom remembers you and your mom and dad, i have a little bit of memory about your dad and the house y'all lived in outside of davis on the way to ardmore. i'm so glad another cunningtubby has answered. i have been in touch with some of uncle roy's (he died before we were born) kids and grandkids in the last year. kathy cunningtubby pettitte (?) (she is uncle roy's granddaughter, and has one sister and one brother) works for the chickasaw nation in sulphur, ok and she has been giving me updates on her and her family. you can e-mail me at reta.gonzales-cunneutubby@ci.seattle.wa.us anytime you want and i will e-mail you back. thanks for answering. :)

Death Comes To Mrs. Elias Cunningtubby
After an illness of three years Mrs. Mary Cunningtubby, 72, wife of Elias Cunningtubby, passed away in a Lawton hospital last Friday.
Services were held at the family home east of Davis Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. H. W. Hall, Methodist pastor officiating.
Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery under direction of the Hutchings. Bearers of the body were G. H. Pierce, Paul Johnson,J. R. Crippen, P. T. Francis, John Dickson and T. L. Richard.
Mrs. Cunningtubby was born in Eastland County, Texas June 13, 1875. She came to this vicinity in 1902 and spent the remainder of her life here. Her first marriage was to Sam McClellan and her second marriage was to Elias Cunningtubby in 1905.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Edna Ferguson, Hereford, Texas; one son, Jas. W. McClellan, Davis, Okla; two brothers, Chas. and Sim Dabbs, Eastland, Texas; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

TO WHOEVER ANSWERS-FINDING THE CUNNINGTUBBY NAME ON THE INTERNET IS OVERWHELMING. ALMOST ALL THE RELATIVES I USED TO KNOW HAVE SCATTERED AND/OR DIED. MY FATHER-DANLEY LEE CUNNINGTUBBY WAS THE OLDEST OF PALMER AND IDA CUNNINGTUBBY'S CHILDREN. THERE WERE 5 MORE. WHEN I LINKED TO THIS SITE, I FOUND OUT THAT MY UNCLE CLYDE HAD DIED IN 1992. ON THE SSDI SEARCH, MY MOTHER, VIRGIE, IS LISTED BUT THERE IS NOTHING ON MY FATHER. HE DIED IN AUGUST OF 1984. ANOTHER BROTHER-DANIEL ("JUDE") CUNNINGTUBBY-WAS ALIVE IN 1993. AFTER THAT TIME, I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE I LEFT DAVIS, OKLAHOMA AND NOW LIVE IN TULSA. ONE OF THE GIRLS-INA WASHBURN-DIED BEFORE MY FATHER. THE OTHER GIRL-LINA LAMPKIN-WAS IN HOBBS, N.M. THE LAST I HEARD. OF COURSE, THERE ARE SCADS OF COUSINS ALL OVER THE PLACE. TO RITA WHO IS IN SEATTLE, MY SON-ISAAC RICE-IS STATIONED AT THE BANGOR NAVAL BASE. HE WOULD BE PALMER CUNNINGTUBBY'S GREAT-GRANDSON. IF ANYONE READS THIS MESSSAGE, MAIL ME BACK. THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME FINDING OUR NAME LIKE THIS. GOD BLESS...HOPE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE SOON.
