Hello Ms. Cardone,

My father was born in Naples (Salerno) he is also a Cusato he and his family emigrated to Argentina when he was five and then he moved to the USA when he was in his 20's. Although Cusato s not a common Italian last name when he went to visit his family in the town of Bunoabitacolo, Salerno he found that there were many cusato families that were not related to him. Although he did find his older brother still living in this beautiful town.

Rocco Cusato

I am looking for information regarding family members who may live in or near Reggio, Italy. My great-grandfather, Rocco Cusato traveled to the United States, alone on the Cretic arriving on Ellis Island July 27, 1907. I can not find any public data on his wife, Ellenore, but I do know they were married in the United States in 1911, in Baltimore, Marlyand and went on to have 7 children, mostly girls. Anyone with suggestions on where to look, please feel free to e-mail.

Dear Dan,

I am working on my family tree and just recently found my grandfather's "Register of Friends" from his funeral. In it all of the "Bearers" were listed and he name James Cusato appears along with a memorial card by James Cusato, 42-18 Broadman, Astoria 3, New York.

My Grandfather's name was Louis Lombardi, born April 23, 1910 and died May 2, 1963 in New Haven, CT. I have been told that his family came from Calabria.

I have never seen the name Cusato before in my research. I do not know if he was a cousin. All of the other bearers were.

If you have any information on this person please contact me directly at AuntieP61@aol.com.

Thankyou,

Phyllis Lombardi Siclari
