Does anybody know who the siblings of Thomas Samuel Cutchin, I are? Thomas was born 1745, Isle of Wight Co., Virginia and died 1781, Edgecombe County, North Carolina. Have found this Cutchin info and have traced them back to the Braswell's...There are diaries in local libraries related to this branch that goes back to Samuel.

Cutchin and Hart Involvement in the Revolutionary War

I am just now beginning to research the CUTCHIN and HART families, and would like to gather info about the men, or, women who were involved with the Revolutionary War. Most of my empasis has been on the CUTCHIN family who originated in Scotland, came to America settling in the Isle of Wight Co., Va., the majority of family members later moving to Edgecombe Co., NC. "Thaddeus Edgar Cutchin
Mr. Cutchin, 94, of Charlotte, passed away at Presbyterian Hospsital on November 5, 2005. He was born on August 3, 1911 in Cedar Hill in Anson County to Thaddeus Eric Cutchin and Julia Jattis Cutchin. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mrs. Thelma E. Cutchin, and his sisters, Ruth McLendon, Emma Jean Bearden, Rachel Cutchin, and brothers Bobby Cutchin and Eric Glenn Cutchin.
Mr. Cutchin is survived by his five sisters, Elizabeth Cutchin Teague of Wilmington, NC, Ella Martha Cutchin Lockamy of Dillon, SC, Julia Cutchin Reynolds of Charlotte, NC, Faye Cutchin of Columbia, SC, and Nancy Cutchin Mayo of Tacoma, WA; four brothers, Walter Cutchin of Greenville, SC, Dennis Cutchin of Mooresville, NC, Larry Cutchin of Bennettsville, SC, and Monty Cutchin of McColl, SC; and serveral nieces and nephews and friends. He was retired from Aeronca in 1978 as a sheet metal worker.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Thaddeus E. Cutchin will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon from the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte, with the Reverend Dr. Kenneth Benson, and Reverends William Phipps and Clyde Newell officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 from 1-2 PM at the funeral home.
Arrangements by McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel."

Seeking info on ancestry of John Wesley Cutchin, born 1864 and died sometime between 1900 -1910. He married Eva G. Johnson (daughter of Abraham P. and Margaret J. Johnson), abt 1893. You might look at the family of Joseph Cutchin/Scutchin, mother Sarah Marshall, named in will of her father Humhrey Marshall of Isle of Wight Co. VA.. Humphrey Marshall's grandson Henry Applewhite md. Mary Council, a niece of your John Council.

I am Catherine Etta Cutchin of Holland, Virginia and I work for H. Woodrow Crook, Esquire of Smithfield, Virginia. Ironically and sadly, I just attended a funeral at St. Luke's and had no idea family was buried there. I have been collecting geneological information on the Cutchin Family for the past several years. I have files full of information and more coming everyday as my beau keeps pulling old papers (albeit mice eaten papers) from the old farmhouse. What a goldmine of info!!!
