The Benjamin Wise that I know lived in NC most of his adult life. He was born in 1772. He married Sarah Martha Cuthbertson in Mecklingburg, NC in 1794. At some point they moved to Burke County NC. He died on Sept. 14, 1855 and is buried in an old abandoned church cemetery there. This is the record that I have from public records. He is my great, great, great grandfather.
I had assumed, boy that'll get you in trouble, won't it? I assumed that he had lived there since his son, his son's son and son's grandson did live and die there.
Your story does make sence though. Because, my Benjamin named his son William Cuthbertson Wise who is the father of my great grandfather Joseph Josiah Wise.
