Elizabeth (Crabb) Myers-Cutter

Elizabeth H (Crabb) Myers-Cutter

B. 29 Jul 1886 in IL
D. 26 Jun 1974 in CA

Looking for information on the descendents of Elizabeth Crabb.
She was first married to a Mr. Myers (I haven't been able to find a first name, yet) when she was about 18, she was widowed by at least 1920.

She later married William W. Cutter in 1932; Mr. Cutter passed away 4 July 1943.

As far as I can gather, there were no children from either marriage, she was listed as a widow in the 1920 & 1930 federal census and also the 1925 Iowa State census. The obit for her second husband also lists no children.

Looking to find descendents of her siblings if possible.

Cosmetologist in Mason City for twenty-one years. Mrs. Cutter was born at Hoopeston, Ill., the daughter of William and Ollie Crabb, she had a brother and two sisters. After a period of service as a cashier, she became owner of a hotel and restaurant. She was wedded in 19032 to W.W. Cutter, a salesman. Mrs. Cutter has served as state president of the association of hairdressers and cosmetologist for five years and on the executive board of the national hairdressers' association for eight years.
Dogs have been her hobby.

Cutter, Jr. and Mary E. Lowery Cutter. Parents are buried in Liberal Kansas. Had one brother, Dr. Charles Richard Cutter, III, PhD (1924-2002) buried in Waco, Texas. Grandparents were Charles R. Cutter, Sr. and Renna Nall Cutter Hamilton. Need information such as an obit and burial site to verify family connection.

Thomas Cutter 1781 born Goodrich Herefordshire was my great great grandfather married to Hannah showing on 1841 census as having 4 sons, Thomas 1821 John 1826 James 1831 (my great grandfather) and Alfred 1836.
At this time his employment is shown as hoop maker.
Hannah is either a Morgan or a Goodman

I'm looking for information on Frank Cutter, born about 1861 in Michigan. 99% positive his parents were Samuel and Martha Cutter, and his siblings, according to the 1880 census, were Lewis, Mary, John, and Cora.

Frank married a woman named Minnie and had six children; George, Henry, Grace, Elva, Goldie, and Adrian Cutter.

While I'd appreciate anything on this line of Cutters, I'm hoping someone out there knows the maiden name of Frank's wife, Minnie. Census records show she was born about 1869 in Kansas.

He married a Catharine Smith and had at least 7 children, Eddie Cutter, my great grandfather, among them. If anyone has any information on Leopold's death date, or any information about Catharine Smith, Michael Cutter, or his wife Julia, I would be much obliged.

I am related to the Cutter's from Lonaconing, MD. My Grandfather was Charlie Cutter and his brother was Will Cutter. They had 2 or 3 sisters, Lizzie and Mag. One sister married a Steele from Lonaconing area. All of these people were from Lonaconing, MD. My Great-Grandfather's name was Fred Cutter and his wife was Ellen Humbertson Cutter. I read in your blog that you are related to the Cutter's from Lonaconing, MD. I would really appreciate any information you can provide me with. There is a family cemetery on the old farm homestead (which has since been sold). I remember seeing it as a child when we visited my Dad's cousins. It was surrounded by a wrought iron fence out in a field on top of a long hill. I remember hearing about a "Hen" or Henry Cutter, Ida Cutter (who I remember visiting). My Dad's cousins were Leslie Cutter and his wife Beulah, and "Clint" Clinton Cutter and his wife Nellie. They were Will's sons. I also remember hearing about the Cutter's from Lonaconing, MD moving westward. Some settled in and around Detroit, specifically a Joe Cutter. I don't know how Joe was related to my Great-Grandfather Fred Cutter. Other Cutter's moved all the way to California. I would like to know where these Cutter's originated, possibly Germany, and if so, what part. Is Cutter the original name? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Note the two Clarissa children and also Maranda who you were wondering about. Information from the Shepard Card File in the Berkshire Athenaeum in Pittsfield, MA. Shepard was a Williams College professor and a noted local genealogist. Two Clarissas in the same family is a little strange but Shepard's data is normally correct.

Hi, I recently came upon your message about Cutter ancestors from Germany, living in the Lonaconing, MD area. I am related to the Cutters from Lonaconing, MD and was told as a child the family came from Germany. Members of the family stayed in Maryland, moved to Pennsylvania (my grandfather Charles), and some moved on west and into Michigan, particularly the Detroit area. My greatgrandparents were Fred Cutter and Ellen Humbertson Cutter. They had two sons, Will Cutter who lived in Lonaconing, MD, and Charles (my grandfather) who married Elizabeth Reshenberg from Connellsville, PA, where they lived. There were three daughters, Stella, Lizzie, and Mag (Maggie or Margaret) One of the daughters married a Steele. I also remember hearing about Hen Cutter (maybe Henry Cutter) from Lonaconing. Pfc. Brian K. Cutter, 19, of Riverside, Calif., was found unconscious on May 13, and was later pronounced dead in Al Asad, Iraq. Cause of death is under investigation. He was assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Samuel FROST and Abigail CUTTER of early 1700's West Cambridge, MA

Hello,

While it is on my mind, I wanted to go to my sister's FTM web site and
write down my FROST line. Then I checked the WorldConnect Project to see
if it compares. I have just been reminded that I am descended from 2
daughters of Samuel FROST, b1716, and Abigail CUTTER, b1722. This family
was in West Cambridge, MA, the original name for Arlington, MA.

From www.rootsweb.com researchers have:

Samuel FROST and Abigail CUTTER being married in West Cambridge, MA
(Arlington) in 1741/42.

And they seem to have had 12 children, possibly their first child died at
birth, and possibly another son died at birth: Samuel, b1743, Abigail,
b1844, Rebecca, b1746, John, b1748, Martha, b1750, Sarah, b1752, John,
b1754, Hannah, b1758, Seth, b1760, William, b1762, Cooper, b1764, Lydia
Harrington FROST, b1766.

(My sister did not write down about siblings, so I can't compare that to her
notes.)

Sarah FROST, b1752, married my ancestor, John HUTCHINSON, b1745. And,
they had a son, Thomas M. HUTCHINSON, b1784.

Thomas M. HUTCHINSON married Betsy HOMER, b1786. And, they had a son,
Jacob Homer HUTCHINSON, b1818.

Jacob HUTCHINSON married Eliza Ann CROSBY, b1819. And, they had a
daughter, Adelaide Crosby HUTCHINSON, who was my great-great-grandmother.

Over to Eliza Ann CROSBY, b1819. Her parents were John CROSBY, b1797, and
Mary BUCKNAM, b1797.

John's parents were Simeon CROSBY, b1758, and Lydia Harrington FROST,
b1766 --- the daughter of Samuel FROST and Abigail CUTTER mentioned above.

Notes:

My main research of 15 years is on the KIDDER name. Adelaide HUTCHINSON
married Charles RICE of Lubec, Maine. They had 2 daughters, Louise RICE
and Edith RICE. They probably traveled to Maine and that is probably how
Louise met George "Sanford" KIDDER, b1870 Princeton, Maine. They married
in Princeton in 1898 and came down to the HUTCHINSON Farm in Winchester, MA,
to live. They had 3 children.

I have been disappointed for 15 years that no one has ever written a
family-history book about the descendants of 2 brothers, George HUTCHINSON
and Thomas, arriving in 1630 with "The Winthrop Fleet." During the next 6
months I hope to be able to at least start writing a document on their
descendants.

I have not been comfortable with what researchers said for a long time about
the parents of Simeon CROSBY who married Lydia Harrington FROST in
mid-1700's in MA. I spent the past winter investigating this. I have
decided that researchers are wrong. I believe that his parents are:
Jessaniah CROSBY and Mary HOSLEY of Billerica, MA Jessaniah is from the:
Simon of Billerica down to Joseph down to William line.

Most of my information is either from my sister's research of about 8 -10
years ago, and from reading what is available on-line. I do not "prove"
anything; I just post my "findings" on-line so that it will help others.

FYI for this Board: My sister has the parents of Abigail CUTTER, b1722, as John CUTTER and Lydia HARRINGTON.

I am looking for family of Edward middle name maybe Allen Newton. May of also gone by name of Edgar.

He was born in Michigan or Vermont in 1857. His parents may of been? Silas and Mary (?) Newton. He was in Montana in the 1885 time frame, he also was in Wisconsin, Il. and Nebraska that we know of. He may of worked for the railroad and died while working for them 1892. Maybe in Wisconsin.

We do know that he married a Harriet (Hattie) (Stanford) and they had four children:

Harvy or Harvey Gilbert born Minnesota or Montana maybe the Little Missouri area about 1882-1884.

Lindley O. Newton born about 1886 in Billings, Montana

Gladys C. or G. born about 1887 ?

Edna Alice Newton born Aug. 1891.

I know later Harriet Newton married a Herbert S. Hanson and they

They were born in Vermont, but apparently took in Edgar as a infant . He first shows up at three years old living with them. He stays with them into adult hood.

The only info I have found shows a Thomas Jefferson Cutter, b 05 June 1826 Sebec NH. Parents :Seth and Abigail [GOULD] CUTTER m 15 Apr 1923.

I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I live near a cemetery called the Pioneers & Soldiers Memorial Cemetery. It is a rather old and neglected cemetary, perhaps the first one in the city of Minneapolis. I rode my bike over to it today after wanting to go there to see who was buried there. As I walked my bike around the cemetery area I came across a series of grave markers, flat to the ground, and in a row. The names and dates on the markers, listed left to right, were as follows: Minnie Cutter, 1866-1903; Mother Allen, 1800-1885; Father Allen, 1800-1890; John Cutter, 1859-1898; Ida May, February 1857-10/28/1868; Pamelia A. Cutter, 1831-1913; Sumner C. Cutter, 1832-1902. I don't, of course, know if it is the Pamelia Cutter you are seeking information about, but if it is I hope it helps. I have a Jeremiah Cutter born 23 Mar 1791 who died 2 July 1861 in Sebec Maine. He married Mary Brown. He had sons Luther and Charles. Sebec Maine can't be that big - ought to be some sort of connection. The source for Jeremiah Cutter is Maine Cemetery Records, http://www.idreamof.com/cemetery/me.html. Looking for info on Mary Cutter - probably from the area of Cork Ireland.

She married Patrick McCarthy and they had 2 daughters, Ellen (circa 1820) and Honora. (Both daughters were transported in 1843 to Australia as convicts).

Have no details of Mary's parents or other family members.

Martin Cutter, a fourteen year old boy living at Enid, has been arrested upon the charge of horse theft. The property taken was a team of horses and a buggy belonging to Charles Seapy, a farmer living near Kremlin.

Here is what I have. Most researchers assume Barnabas to be the son of Nathan Cutter and Hannah Davis only because they had a son Barnabas born at about the right time, but there is no further information about him and since the link is not proven, I have ended the line at Barnabas, who is my "brick wall". When his wife died, sometime between 1805 and about 1820, he took his children from Watertown, New York to Ohio, where he bound them out to three different families, supposedly about 100 miles apart so that they could not find each other. He headed back to Watertown to finish up some business and was never heard from again.

Your Thomas, son of Vachel Metcalf Cutter, is a first cousin of my grandmother, Nellie Cutter, daughter of Josiah.

I have more on this family if you are interested, but no more on Thomas himself other than the name of his wife, Iona Haley. It is a most interesting family!
