My gg grandfather was Johann Karl Cuvelier who married Margaretha Dauffenbach 22 Oct 1850 in Clervaux, Luxembourg. Johann's fathers name was Jean Cuvelier, mother Maria Guelf from France. Johann and Margaretha immigrated to the US in 1872 on the ship Steinmann from Antwerp to NY. Three children were listed with them: Henry, Leonhard (should have been Leonarde-female) and Margaretha (my greatgrandmother). Johann went by the name Charles and they spelled their last name Cuvelge which is the way Cuvelier would be spelled in Luxembourg. Henry disappeared in abt 1883 according to his mother's obit in 1907. The family went to Chicago for about a year and then to Mankato, MN. Johann died in 1879.
