Sandra, Mrs. C.V. Cyrus was my great grandmother who died in 1918. She was the wife of Charles Volney Cyrus. Her maiden name was Ann Maria Porter, and she was born in Virginia in 1847. Jennie Hill Cyrus was one of their daughters, who married O.T. Cooper. One of their sons was James Crary Cyrus, my grandfather who died in 1938 and is buried in Cleburne, however, his grave, oddly, has no headstone. I would love to have a copy of the obituary that you mention and will send my address when I hear back from you. I live in Richmond, Virginia--my father, Joseph Barrow Cyrus was born in Cleburne and moved to Virginia around 1939. I have some records of the Cyrus family going back to Henry Cyrus who was born around 1790. I would like to learn where he was born and about the first members of the Cyrus family in America. I will appreciate anything you might share on the Cyrus family, and, of course, if there is any information that you are seeking, I would be happy to reciprocate.
