Frank Louis Czarnick, the son of Joseph and Mary (Moritz) Czarnick was born on a farm 6 miles south of Genoa, NE. He one of 14 children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Krakow Catholic Church and attended school there until the 8th grade. During his school years Frank helped with the family farm which was all done with horses. Following the 8th grade Frank and a friend went to Minnesota to find work. He worked for the REA Highlines and the Railroad in numerous states.

On February 11, 1942 Frank entered the United States Army. While in the service Frank was united in marriage to Louise E. Ward on August 16, 1944 at Miami, AZ. Toward the end of his time in the service, they released him to work in the Copper Mines, he continued to work there for 15 years. On April 26, 1946 Frank was honorably discharged from the Army.

Frank and his family lived in several states including Arizona, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Alabama. In 1962 they moved back to Silver Creek where he and Louise bought a bar and ran it for 2 years. They were members of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. They continued to live and farm in the Genoa and Silver Creek area until 1997 when they moved to St. Edward.

Frank was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #263 of Silver Creek. Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On Tuesday, October 23, 2007 Frank passed away at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE at 89 years of age.

He is survived by his wife Louise of St. Edward; 5 children: Doug and wife Lisa of Fullerton; Sharon Yungdahl and husband Dale of Osceola, NE; Harlon and wife Kathy; Jerome and wife Roxanne all of Silver Creek, NE; Allan and wife Elizabeth of St. Edward, NE; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 1 brother Emil Czarnick of Genoa, NE; 2 sisters Emily Wruble of Columbus, NE; and Eleanor Stankoski of Genoa, NE; along with many other relatives and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward with Fr. Jim Novotny officiating. Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery in Genoa, NE with military rites. Visitation will on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the church with a 7:30 p.m. Wake Service. Visitation will resume on Monday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
