Surnames: Dabbs, Slaughter, Ramsey
Jerome Dabbs and his wife Sarah Fannin, came to Texas in 1860. Anna Sue Slaughter, my great grandmother had a tax receipt written in 1863, the former address was listed on Peach Tree Street, in Atlanta, Georgia. They has six children Jim, never married, William, married to Lou Ramsey first they had Ms Anna and Frank, then William married Lizzie Owen. Ms Anna Sue Dabbs Married Charles Columbus Slaughter and Frank Dabbs married Lula Slaughter. Lou E Ramsey died in 1883. All of this came from the newspapers at the Frankston Library, in Frankston, Texas. I went there a few years ago and found a wealth of information just reading the papers from the small towns, Frankston, Palestine, and Cooper. My Grandmother Jewel Anne Tomas is buried in Palestine along with her sibilings.
