I don't know how many others changed the spelling of their surname, but I will address this question with our discussion group!

This DNA Dobbs Project originally began connecting with people who had ancestors from North Carolina and Georgia. Not necessarily born in those two states, but ancestors who migrated to those states and lived there.

From these two states the discussion group now has begun looking into the states of Tennessee and Kentucky. But the primary focus is on the first two states.

Since you know that your family are Dobbs from Georgia, could you give me some of the names of your family line with year dates of birth, if possible. I will post these names with our discussion group and let them know that your line began with the Dabbs name and changed to Dobbs. That is correct isn't it? Your family name was Dabbs but now your line is Dobbs?
