I found a death record for Alexander Harmon Dace at the LDS Family Search site. It shows Alexander Harmon Dace died 28 Nov 1937 in Joshua, Johnson, Texas. He was male, white, 93y 10m 20d old. He was born 08 Jan 1844 in Illinois to Dennis Dace, born in Illinois and Juliah Branson, born in Illinois. He was married to Sarah Dace.

What I thought I knew about him was that he was born about 1847 in Missouri to Harmon Dace (Michael, Michael) and Martha Huff. About 1854 the family moved to Lykins County, Kansas, the epicenter of John Brown's raids. The 1855 Kansas census indicates there was no mother in the home and the 1857 census indicates there is. I assumed Martha had died and Harmon remarried. Harmon died in Kansas sometime before 1860. His children ended back up in Missouri. In 1860 Alexander was living in Springfield, Henry, Missouri with the Jones family. During the Civil War he joined the 7th Regiment, Missouri State Militia Cavalry. In 1870 he was living in Belville, Howard, Kansas. He then moved to Johnson County, Texas.

What I'm trying to do now is reconcile what I thought I knew about him to the information on his death record and wondered if any of you could shed some light on him. His name is the only thing consistent. Were there two Alexander Harmon Daces and I've gotten their information mixed together? I have several Dennis Daces on the tree but none of them were ever married to a Julia that I can find. There appears to have been a fourth brother to the original Michael/Dennis/Harmon group. Is Alexander Harmon Dace that died in Texas a grandson of the fourth brother?

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
