I have an Arthur Dacus b. 1816 in SC appearing on the 1850 Forsyth County census. He is married to Elizabeth Cogburn b. 1829. His children are Pascal Hawkins age 11 b. 1839 in GA, John W. age 8 b. 1842 in GA, William R. and James A. twins age 5 b. 1845 in GA. I believe this is the same Arthur Dacus who married 1st to Peggy Tatum on 2/25/1838. Peggy died sometime after the birth of the twins and Arthur then married Elizabeth Cogburn and she had Archibald M. I have seen another message that disputes Ida Chapman being Arthur's first wife. I am researching the Tatum Family and would like very much to find some clarification and someone that can further establish my ancestor Peggy Tatum. I look forward to hearing your thoughts about the data I have discovered about Arthur Dacus and if you think we are referring to the same person.
