I know that we have notes taken from my great-grandmother, Nellie Dacy, about her parents' deaths. My recollection is that James had some kind of sudden illness. He was buried at Folsom, rather than next to his wife in Kenton, because of inclement weather (snow, I think). Although it was a mystery for a long time where he was buried (when my Aunt Frances went back to look there was some suggestion that cemetery records in the area had been lost during a flood), we have since discovered a newspaper account verifying that James was buried at the Drew Ranch cemetery outside Folsom.
