D'Addario Origins

Hi, My father's name was Anthony Stephen D'Addario (when in WWII his name was changed by the Army to Daddario for ease of spelling). His parents came to Boston, Massachusetts directly from Italy many years ago. I was told that there was/is a small town in Italy named D'Addario, which is where my father's parents were from, located around the middle section of Italy, on the western side/coast(?), but I know no more information than that. His father's name was Stephen A. D'Addario. Anyone know of a small town in Italy called D'Addario? My father's father had a couple of daughters, Mellie? & another one I think and some brothers, one was named Mattie. My father was the youngest (now deceased). I've heard the name D'Addario is like the surname Smith in Italy.

I am looking for my family. The originated in Salle, Italy.
They came Willow Street, Astoria, New York. My grandfather was Pantaleone. My fathers name was Philip Daddario -born in New York. Name originally spelled D'ADDARIO. He had one sister Philomena also goes by Florence and his brother Salvatore also goes by Sonny.

I am looking for information about my grandfather Salvatore. He was born in San Severo,Italy on Febuary 11, 1889.His father's name was Matteo and his mother's was Carmela(Nuzzi).In his family he had 3 brothers,Nicholo,Vincenzo,Luigi, and 2 sisters (one who lives in Lyons, France), and the other who's name is unknown as well as her whereabouts.When my grandfather was 21 his father died and he joined the army soon afterwards. and then left and came to America where he met my grandmother Giuditta Scherzi(or Scherza,Sgherzi(a). They settled down and had 14 children. Her sister Antonia had 16 children, and vincenza is unknown what happened to him. If any of this info sounds familiar please e0mail me, I would love to talk. Does any one have any informatin on Luigi D Addario who had a daughter named Anotina from Reggio Calabria? They landed in Brooklyn NewYork. Luigi was a tailor and resided in Newark for awhile.

Dominic also known as (Domencio) last name was spelled D'Addario born Fresagrandinaria, Abruzzi, Italy, arrived in NY in Sept 1910, ship Oceania from Naples. Supposed to have 3/4 brothers, may be in NY, Canada area. Maried to Nicolina Dinnocenti, born same town, in Italy, maried in 1910, had son Anthony, she and her son came to US around 1920, through Boston. They lived in Bridgeport, PA. Looking for any information.

My Grandmother's maiden name was Daddario. Her first name was Rose Mary, nickname was Nina. She lived in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, born 1900 and died in 1932. I believe she has a few living relatives living in Pennsylvania.
