My Great Grandmother was Henrietta Frances Dade nee Messeder born 7th Nov 1868 in Southwark. As you say the daughter of Joseph John Messeder St Georges Southwark 1840-1922 and Elizabeth Lucy Bustard 1845 Blackfriars.

Henrietta Frances (known as Lally, a lovely Nanny) had a number of children by Harry Ernest Dade. However she then had an affair with a William Mason 1843-1906 from Old Catton in Norwich in Norfolk.

The affair produced two children Henrietta Lillian Dade 21st Dec 1899 Westminster and my Grandfather William Mason Dade born 24th Mar 1902 in Westminster. Henrietta 1899 went onto marry Alexander Ward and my Grandfather changed his name by Deed Poll in 1929, just before he married, to William Mason by dropping the Dade surname.

I have details of your Grandmother as being born in Lambeth.

I have the children of Joseph and Elizabeth as Elizabeth 1866, Joseph 1867, Henrietta 1868, Eleanor 1870, Annie 1871, Rose 1872, Eva 1881, Albert 1887, John 1889 and Emily 1891. Albert was a Metropoloitan Police Officer.

I have a photo of Elizabeth Bustard if you would like a copy of it. I also have many photos of my Great Grandmother Henrietta.
