Hi, not quite what your looking for but i may be able to help in english ties, your probally aware but some Deed ancestors are derivatives of Dade, other people researching the name have found links in the east of England, particularly Suffolk and Essex.

I have traced my direct line back to a John Deed b 1792 but cant find any evidence of any further ties. It is frustrating that it is around this time that other Deed lines tie to Dade with the move to essex, though i cannot tie mine in with them.

Without going on about it too much more i was wondering if you had any information in this area? particularly relating to the Dades of Suffolk, and theres subsequent movements? Also, any additional information on the Dade-Deed link would be greatly appreciated!

Ben

Harriet, I´m so grateful for your answer and the information about my "parents" in Eastbourne long time ago. They are all alive, good news! Sorry to hear about their divorce though. I looking forward to contact Fay, I had a very good relation to her, so I will indeed write to her and maybe we can have a "date" in London. Me and my husband often go to London, we travel cheap with Ryan Air 2-3 times a year. Next time in november - so it´s possible that we can meet after some 37 years. That would be really nice - I remember Fay as a warm gentle person.
Thank You Harriet! Give my regards to Jasper although he does not remember me. I remember him very well - he had a wonderful curly blond hair - and he often corrected my bad english...

Hello Anne-marie,my name is Harriet Dade and i am Jaspers wife, and yes he is that little 5 year old you remember, son of Fay and Roger Dade,of course he is not at all little anymore ! unfortunatly Fay and Roger split up about 3 years i think, after you where with them,Roger went on to have numerous children with numerous young women, leaving Fay to bring Jasper up alone, she went into teaching and retired as head of the art department two years ago.She is happy and well and living in west hampstead,London. Jasper did have a little contact with Roger in 1994 when we got married but he soon disapeared out of his life again and we hav'nt seen or heard of him since ! i think the best thing is if i give you her address and then you could write to her, she speaks very fondly of all the students she had boarding with her back then so i'm sure she would be over the moon to hear from you.
5 South Mansions
Gondar Gardens,
West Hampstead,
London NW6 1QF
England.
I will let Fay know that you have been in touch and that she may hear from you. Kind regards Harriet xxx

I found your information about Jasper Dade. I´m curious because I was in Eastbourne/England only 15 years old in the early 70's (I´m now 52!)and lived together with Roger and Fay Dade. They had a son who was 5 years old - Jasper. I really want to know what happened with the family. When I left home to Sweden, they were thinking about moving to Canada. I don´t know if it is "my family". I really liked them so I have always wondered if they moved, how they got along and so on. They thought that my name Ann-Marie was too long so they shortered it to "Ann". There were several students living with them at the time but I think they will remember if it´w "my" family, at least Roger and Fay, Jasper was just a small boy. You did not mention Fays namn in this presentation so it maybe not be the same family.
Please, give me a note - I would be really glad!
Give my regards! From "Ann"

Hi Julie,

Thanks for your post. Nice to find another relative!
I did solve the mysteries of the Dades in Barrington once I twigged the Elliot connection with help from Sarah Hawkins who has transcribed all the Barrington PRs and censuses. Your William was baptised Elliot I believe?
Its quite a long time since I have done any family history research, as I got as far as I could about 4 or 5 years ago.
If you would like me to send you anything, I'll be glad to. I've got Dades going back another two generations from Thomas and Elliots going back 4 generations.

David

Hi again, I veiwed you postings. You are looking for info on the signers of the petitions that Republicans used to initiate Enforcemeent Act of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments of 1870. You can find a brief bio of each man at www.brairtownpublishing.com. Results of my research on this event of April 4, 1870 is compiled in a book THEY LEFT THEIR MARK. You can obtain through the website. Several descendants still living in Circleville are planning an annual celebration of what started in Circleville.
Hi Susan
Catch me at treetracer@alltel.net. Your Lee Massey name goes way back to the 1700s. Parenthia Alexander married a Massey and they had Dade and Lee Massey. Parenthia's daughter Elizabeth Dade [2nd marriage] had Catherine Dade Lewis. She married Henry Chew Dade and named one of their sons Lee Massey Dade. He died in Fort Smith Arkansas in 1868. Is this your line.

Sandra

Re Dade Family

Hi Mary

Will be glad to help BUT I need to have your information to place you in the family.

The Alabama Dades came from Virginia thru North Carolina, 1799 - about 1820 and then to Mobile.

They were in King George County, VA until 1799. Then Robert Townshend Dade and his wife, Elizabeth Parker, moved to Orange County, NC where they resided until about 1806. RTD died before 1812 at unknown location. Elizabeth moved to New Bern, NC where she and her children [except for son Henry Chew Dade] resided. She died in 1812. The children began moving to Mobile about 1817 and there are different dates for them moving to Mobile.

I will trade information but you must give me your line as far back as you can.

I have been researching for 30 years and teaching genealogy since 1979. If you need help, let me know and I will tell you where you may find records.

I will be back in Mobile this coming summer in June. I spent two weeks last summer and gathered lots of Dade research material. Chances are you descend from Robert Richards Dade but there were 3 Dade sons in Mobile -- RR, William, who is my ancestor, and Horatio. So you could come from any of the three. The other son, Henry Chew Dade, and his family moved on to MS and then AR.

Therefore, you must come from the other three sons.

Let me have your information. As I said I will trade and share information.

Sandra McKee
Sanford, NC

Hi I am trying to locate descendants of Robert Richards Dade. He was the brother of my ancestor William Dade. They were the sons of Elizabeth Parker and Robert Townshend Dade. Many researchers have used R.T.'s half-brother as the husband of Elizabeth Parker. I have a copy of their Marriage Agreement and not possible for the half-brother at age seven to marry.

He is not a direct ascendant, but was married to my Great Grandmother Henrietta Frances MESSEDER from August 1888 until about 1898.

In 1903 I believe he married Alice BEECROFT in Kensington, London.

He was born in 1867/8 in Stratford, East London and at the time of his first marriage was living in Fenner Street, Stockwell, South London. Both he and his father, Samuel, were both painters by trade.

Regards

Jim Mason
