William B. Harrison b. abt. 1799
I was interested in your posting. I've been looking for my gg grandfather, William B. Harrison, b. abt. 1799. My branch of the Harrisons llived in Newark, New Jersey. I have not been able to find anything about my William B. in NJ prior to an 1850 census record and a marriage record in 1850 to Margaret S.M. Ball - since he was about 50-51 years old at the time, it's possible that he came to NJ from somewhere else and did have another family. On the census record, his profession is "jeweler." He fathered children into his "60s."
I was wondering if the the William you mention in your post was born about 1799 and had the middle initial "B" and if you knew if he was a jeweler.
Also, in some records on the Ball family, he's listed as "Worth Harrison" - but I cannot find any other pertinent information.
Also, family legend has it that we're "direct" descendants of the two Harrison presidents, but I haven't made that connection, yet.
My g grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Nutman Harrison (one of his daughters) who married Frank J. Dorl -
I'm working at a local genealogy library today - should you have any information for me, please contact me at klosapio@aol.com. as I'm not sure when I'll get back here.
Thanking you in advance for your attention to my request.
