Warren Roy Dady, 75, passed away June 24, 2010, at Desert Valley Hospital. He was a resident of Hesperia for 12 years.
He was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Follansbee, W.Va. A distinguished marksman, he served in the United States Marine Corps for 22 years, including two tours in Vietnam. He retired honorably on Jan. 15, 1976.
Warren's first love was his family. After his family, he loved guns, heavy eqiupment and gold prospecting. He was a devoted member of the Desert Springs Church and served faithfully on the cleaning ministry.
He had an infectious laugh and would chat with complete strangers as if they were lifelong friends. His quick and ready smile and positive goodwill attitude has smoothed over many rough times bringing comfort to family, friends and strangers alike.
His son Jackey preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Beverly; two children, Darlene and Howard; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Victor Valley Mortuary Chapel, 15609 11th St. in Victorville. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Victor Valley Memorial Park.
