I have aquired some information about the DAFFAN line while doing research on my DAFFINs if you are interested. There was a VINCENT DAFFAN (most records show the name as DAFFIN and even once DAFFRON) who seems the earliest I have found living in Va. in the mid to late 1700s. I have corresponded with some of his descendants and most are still in the Va. area, but there was at least one branch that went south to Alabama, Louisianna and Texas. If you think any of this would help, let me know.
You did write in a previous message that you believed the name to be originally DAFFAN.
