Info on the Dahl ancestors in PA who must have come to USA before 1850-59

Classification: Query
Surnames: Dahl, Rupp, Ballman
My g.grandmother, Emma Fredericka Dahl, daughter of Jacob Dahl (b. Prussia 1833; d. Phil. 1908)and Christina Ballman (b. 1834 Saxony Ger.; d. 31 Dec 1876 Phila.). Emma married in 1876 to Frederick Charles Rupp of Phil. whose parents were also born in Germany. My query has to so with the allegation that Emma is related to Swedish botanist and doctor, Anders Dahl (b. 17 May 1751 in Sweden; d. 25 May 1789) and is credited for giving his name to the Dahlia flower. I would also like any info regarding Emma's parents and grandparents (both of those names unkn, except both from Germany and Emma's grandmother's first name is Margaret).
