When my ggg grandfather, Johann Konrad Dahler/Daehler, landed in New York with his wife & family, they stayed with his aunt for a time before moving on to IL. His father was Johann Kurt Dahler, and his grandfather was Johann Jakob Dahler - from Hesse Germany.
