Thank you so much for responding to this question. Alexandra Dahlstrom (born Nilsson) was a distant relative and that is the reason I'm looking for her descendants. I would love to get in touch with you directly. Please e-mail me at nallepuh@gmail.com

Hi, I happened to be looking for information on this site and saw your posting. I don't know my grandmother's name but my grandfather's name was Einar Dahlstrom and my mother's name was Florence. She was born in 1925 and they lived in Brooklyn. I know very little about this side of the family. It is a long story but I was separated from my mother from age 1 to age 11. She died in 1970 at the age of 44. I am her only child - that I know of. Einar died several years later but I don't have the exact date. I never met my grandmother as she died much earlier.
Why are you looking for them?

Are you still researching this family? I believe Norma is the wife of my Arthur Dahlstrom. His family was from Lindsborg, Kansas and he lived in Chicago area (maybe Harvey, Ill as you posted?). Albert died in 1938 and is buried with his parents and she is not with him. They had children. I'm trying to trace them. Would like to hear from you. Cassandra

Searching Alexandra, Einar and Florence Dahlstrom

I'm looking for more information about Svea Alexandra Seventina Nilsson, born February 17, 1904 in Sweden. She used the name Alexandra. Alexandra emigrated to the US in 1920 and settled down in New York (Brooklyn?) where many of her siblings were living already. She married Einar Dahlström and according to the 1930 census (where their names are typed Darlstrom instead of Dahlstrom) they had one daughter named Florence born about 1925. I'm looking for more information about this family, did they have more children? What happened to Florence, is she still alive, did she have children, etc etc. Would also like to get in touch with now living descendants.
Hello,
Norma (Schultz) Dahlstom was my grandmother, her mother was named Anna Warnke (I have a copy of her last will and testament. She and Arthur Dahlstrom had two daughters, Gwendolyn and Norma June both born in Downers (Donners?) Grove, Illinois. Gwendolyn was born June 5, 1919 (died December 17, 1972) and I believe Norma June was born in 1917. Gwendolyn married Eugene Grabow in 1937 in Chicago and moved to California where they adopted me. My Aunt Norma was married 3 times and her last husband was Paul Reynolds and they lived in Long Beach, California until their death. Neither Gwen nor Norma June had any natural children. Arthur's brother Joseph (my great Uncle Joe) lived in Lindsborg, Kansas. He smoked cigars and had a great sense of humor. I have pics if you need them.

I am also looking for information on this family line and an willing to share the information I have on Louis' siblings.

The Turlock Historical Society put out their periodical, The Turlock Pioneer, with an article on the family, in Spring 2000. There are pix of the family taken in 1916.

I am doing research on my grandfather's line, Gust Dahlstrom, son of Halvard (Larsson) Dahlstrom. I just saw your post. Thank you for the addl generation.

The family moved to Turlock, California. There is an older daughter, Mary Lundell who moved to CA first. The rest of the family followed late 1890/early 1900s. Lars was also called Louis(even on the death record). Per was called Peter and died in MN 1889.

The Turlock Historical Society put out a periodical, The Turlock Pioneer. In Spring 2000, vol 2, no. 1, is an article on the family with pix of the family, including grandchildren. From this article, there was another daughter who died in infancy, but I have no name.

What documentation do you have for the names of Halvard's
mother and father and sibs? I have Halvard born in 1838,
death date 1930, buried in Turlock Memorial Park...my parents are also buried there.

Frank Dahlstrom

Hi
My father was Frank Richard Dahlstrom, Brn 11 Sept, 1891 in Stromsberg Nebraska. He grew up in Grand Island.
He had brothers and sisters George, Harold, Neva, Nora, May.
His mothers name was Spong, first name may have been Fannie.
HIs parents immigrated from Sweden, and it is said they had the last name Gustafson. Due to so many others with the same name, they changed their name to Dahlstrom to solve mail delivery problems.
They were ranchers / farmers.
His sister, May, married Leo Stuhr. I believe there is a museum in Grand Island with his name.
Neva married Harry Minor.

My father had the habit of calling ALL the dogs I ever owned, SKEEZ-ox. Does anyone with Swedish heritage recognize this word? I would love to know what it means.
Hope to fine some relatives out there.
P. Dahlstrom

Dear friends and family,

It looks like our family at one point was living in Nasby Parish in Orebro, Sweden. Here are some names and dates associated with our line:

Per Erik (Oskar) Dahlstrom (Osterhaninge,SW)
7/21/1813-12/2/1873
-m-
Christina Margareta Urman (Hellestad,SW)
1816?

children:

Gunilla Vilhemina (Maria)
1/10/1845 (1/15/1843)-10/19/20

Helina
7/3/1846

Oskar
12/20/1847-(8/10/1918)

Erik Robert Wohlgang
2/14/1853-9/25/1930

Hulda
12/31/1855-1/17/1962

Our family from Buffalo, NY are descendants of Erik Rbt W Dahlstrom- namely, Erik Paul Andreas Dahlstrom ( 9/27/1897-3/8/1949 ) born in Hamburg, Germany.

There are two branches of our family that bear the surname:
Eric Gunnar and his son Eric Rbt of Lockport, Ny and
Carl Richard I & II both of Cape Coral, Fl.

If you Orebro-ians have any info on the above line and are willing to share it, my email is conrazon@aol.com
I am particularly interested in tracking the descenants from Oskar, who came to the New World like his brother Erik Rbt -the two brothers lost contact with each other.

Thanks, and best wishes with your own search.

Rich Dahlstrom
This is a copy of an email I received. Just wanted to share.

Hi Annie,
>
> I live in Sedgwick Co., Ks., and often check the Sedgwick message
> board to see if I can help anyone posting a query. I read your
> posts, and am not sure that I can help. Just a few little items,
> most of which you probably already have (better to get them twice than
> not at all...grin!!):
>
> 1. I found the Dahlstroms in the 1915 State Census. It lists A.
> Dahlstrom age 42, b. Sweden; P. Dahlstrom age 40, b. MI; children: F.,
> age 15, b. Cal.; Chas 8 b. MO; Minnie 6, b. KS; and Hilda 3, b. KS.
>
> 2. Also found them in the 1925 State Census (Caldwell). Agustus
> Dahlstrom 53, b. Sweden; Pauline 51, b. Mich; Karl 17, b. MO; Hildreth
> 13, b. KS; and Herman 10, b. KS. Of interest: Agustus list coming
> to USA in 1888, and came to KS. from New York. And, that he was
> naturalized in 1903. Pauline says she come to Ks. From Mich.
>
> 3. You mentioned in one of your posts, that there was oral indication
> that Pauline was b. in Alabama? Perhaps you have already seen this,
a Pauline Setzer b. abt 1875 in Alabama with parents from
> Germany, living in Garland Co., AR. (Is this where Edwin Hinkle
> died?....might be a connection?)
>
I am looking for any information on August (b 4-17-1873 d. 2-26-1955)and Pauline Dahlstrom (b. 12-24-1874 d. 8-1953). They lived in Caldwell Kansas as indicated on the 1910 and 1920 US Federal Census. They have 2 children that are buried in the Caldwell Cemetery Josephine and Lewis Dahlstrom both died in infancy. Surviving children from Paulines Obit are Mrs Forrester of Downey Ca, Mrs. Dale Courtwright of MO. Mrs. Lloyd Mueller of Wichits, Herman Dahlstrom (my grandfather of wichita, Charles Dahlstrom of Napa Ca Edwin Hinkle of Hotsprings and John Hinkle of Pratt.

I have been told that August worked on the railroad that was in Caldwell City. He died in Napa Ca after he and Pauline were divorced.

Pauline died in Wichita and is buried in Wichita Park Cemetery.

On the Census it is written that they were married in 1897. I have written to the county seat (wellington) and they find no records. I have copies of bot census'

August was said to have come to America from Sweden. I can find no documents to prove that. I can also find no documentation on the birth place of Pauline. Oral history said arkansas and also Michigan. Neither have records.

If any of this rings a bell with you or you have some information on where i should look next please email me
thanks
Annie

Looking for information on Harvey Earl Dahlstrom family - Idaho

I have been gathering family history and am seeking information from anyone in the Harvey Earl Dahlstrom, Sr. line. Harvey Earl Dahlstrom was married to Phoebe Ann Steers. I am the great-granddaughter of their son, Harvey "Earl" Dahlstrom, Jr. and his wife, Dorothy Mae Hoit. My mother and aunts continually talk of a cousin, "Patty." I believe she is still living and would love to get into contact with her. When her husband died, Phoebe Ann Steers later married a Grant. I understand that "Grandma Grant" wrote a personal history. I would love to have a copy of it.
